Bagpipes:
You don’t need a Bagpipe to get started. All you would need is a practice chanter and a teacher. Starting with basics of learning notes, rhythms and songs, as the students progress they can even bring in songs they would like to learn. Being an expert Voice Teacher I have breathing techniques way beyond your typical Bagpipe teacher.

Karen was so nice and welcoming. She made my daughter feel very comfortable and she was very easy going and patient. We truly enjoyed meeting her and my daughter enjoyed her first lesson.

This was my first lesson after many years, and I was afraid I couldn't do it. Karen relaxed me immediately and encouraged me. I walked out of there pretty excited and very much encouraged! I look forward to my next lesson!

I use a really fun and fast approach to getting any student to the next level by improving their technique, dialing in tuning and tone, and expanding their repertoire. 26 years experience teaching beginner to professional level pipers.

My initial instruction follows the John Sprague school method, which focuses on precise articulation of ornamentation, leading into pipe band music.

Once a grounding in pipe band technique has been achieved, I can continue to work with students along the pipe band path through the intermediate level, or branch off into folk/kitchen piping, informed my extensive experience as a fiddler.

I am also willing to teach small pipe and border pipe students.

Peter is very patient and exceptionally knowledgeable. He is very analytical in his teaching. I am a new student (only a few lessons) and I am confident he will be able to provide the critical but positive instruction and encouragement that I need. His enthusiasm and passion for music is contagious. In fact, he gives detailed oral histories and music theory explanations related to the topic of the lesson. Most teachers boot you out when time is up - not Peter - he always finishes on the right note. Plus he has an adorable cat assistant, Rory, as a side kick.
