My daughter just had her first Flute lesson with Peter. She was very nervous but Peter totally made her feel at ease. She loved her lesson with Peter and how upbeat and full of energy he is along with his patience. Looking forward to many more lessons. Thank You.

Beat Box: (Cajón)
A box-shaped percussion instrument originally from Peru, played by slapping the front or rear faces with the hands, fingers, or sometimes various implements such as brushes, mallets, or sticks.
Cajones are primarily played in Afro-Peruvian music, as well as contemporary styles of flamenco and jazz among other genres. The term cajón is also applied to other unrelated box drums used in Latin American music such as the cajón de rumba used in Cuban rumba and the cajón de tapeo used in Mexican folk music.
Learning will be fun as the Cajon is pretty easy to learn. Hand techniques and rhythms will be the primary focus as well as playing along with songs and even learning to solo!

Karen fixed my problem in five minutes after I had two years of getting no where. I play clarinet and was curling my fingers like on a clarinet. On a bagpipe, you must lay the fingers flat. Suddenly all the pressure problems with the reed went away.

I've had about 12 lessons with Karen so far. Out of the few guitar teachers I've gone to in my life, Karen is definitely my favorite. She is super encouraging, patient, and careful about details. We started off by going through a beginner's book that covered sight reading and guitar basics, just what I needed. She was very flexible and willing to incorporate singing into the lessons, which helps a lot. Also, she's generally a good person and it's easy to feel comfortable around her -- in the past I have sometimes been so nervous around previous instructors that I could hardly play a note. Not so this time -- I am very happy with the lessons because I feel like I am making progress. Learning to play guitar is a dream of mine and with Karen I feel like I'll get there!

I had no confidence whatsoever in my vocal ability, however singing was something I always wanted to try. I took the plunge and began vocal lessons with Karen. She was very knowledgeable and patient, and it was a lot of fun, too!

First lesson was a great success, Mr. West got straight to work and had my son sounding much better after only half an hour. Looking forward to my son gaining skill and confidence with Mr. West's guidance.
