I'm a beginner at the guitar. My first lesson with Jason was very great. He starts with the basics and teaches you what you want to learn. Patient and nice.

Jason is a remarkable teacher! He truly has been able to break through a mental block I've always had regarding thinking in chords rather than just reading notes. His desire to help the student reach a personal goal is so evident. Jason remained so confident that a 'light bulb' would come on that I started to believe it myself. He has put me on a good path now and did it with his confidence in me and by providing the right tools. Thank you for your patience, confidence in me, and your calm, pleasant way of teaching, Jason.

I use mediums of all kinds from charcoal to lead pencil, to prismacolor. I also have a lot of experience in collage-the combination of more than one medium.

I can teach drawing at any level. My goal is for the student to improve and work towards their desired achievements -- whether it's just to get better at drawing, work towards making a masterpiece, or putting together a portfolio to get into their desired art school.

In drawing, I'd work primarily in pencils or conte crayon. Otherwise the medium of choice could be digital (Photoshop or any similar digital medium).

I've been drawing since I was 4, and have graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. I've also worked for Disney Research for a year and a half, and now freelance as an artist for clients.

Emily was extremely helpful. She taught my daughter who didn't know anything about animation and coached her all the way until she was able to produce a short animated movie. She is always very professional and caring of the student needs.
Thank you Emily for all your help.

Drawing is the process of learning to see & allowing your hand to move with your mind as you process what you see. It is line, space, shape, shadow, texture, mass, value, light, and the inspiration of the artist. It ranges from sketching to detailed drawing--depending on your temperament and interest.

I'm a beginner, so I was very cautious in choosing an instructor. I wanted to find someone who is an experienced artist, but also able to understand and explain things on my beginning level. Jane is able to do just that. Not only is she a wonderful artist, but she exudes such joy in what she does that it is contagious. She's a good listener and very intuitive, so her advice was just what I needed. I highly recommend her. I also highly recommend the online classes if the teacher is not in your area because Takelessons.com has perfected the system and makes it so easy.

Jane was amazing--Patient, encouraging and very knowledgeable! Her instructional language and modeling were explicit, which helped us learn new techniques and concepts. For example, when we were painting cone flowers, she helped us step by step to understand the flower structure. Also, the three of us taking the lesson were at different experience levels and she was able to differentiate her instructions so we all were successful! We were having so much fun because Jane was having fun teaching us! What a relaxing and creative experience!
