Since this is a dying art, it has been awhile since I've been commercially active, but I have taught classes before and have the supplies. I'd be most willing to share what I know with others who would be interested in keeping this art form alive!

Although my focus as a TakeLessons teacher is primarily in music, I also teach a killer Calligraphy class. I do not take the fact that I am 'multi-talented' lightly. I know good calligraphy and I know mediocre calligraphy. Before getting more involved with music, I taught Calligraphy at a junior college for 7 years. I taught over 750 students and took classes from a student of Donald Jackson, one of the Scribes of the Queen of England. I can strengthen the work and techniques of intermediate or advanced calligraphers (and illuminators) and am very adept at teaching beginners. We can meet in my music studio or your home. I have a list of preferred materials and love this amazing communication form.

I was so nervous before my first lesson. Marty went above and beyond to put me at ease and made me feel excited and hopeful about my skill set. I chose her because of what other people had said and they were all right. You won't regret working with her.

I am retired and wanted to start playing piano again after many years. Marty tailors my lessons to my skill level and to the kind of music I want to play. She is very personable, extremely well organized, and is a very effective teacher.

All my life I have loved the art of making beautiful letters. Since 1994, as interest has arisen, I have taught beginners to move from fledgling efforts... to making letters look artfully beautiful. A student can select the lettering styles they want to use. I provide a calligraphy pen with archival, acid-free ink. Bring nothing but your enthusiasm to the first class!

I can teach you how to make money with Calligraphy and Hand Lettering.

I have been practicing Calligraphy in a lot of western styles and Eastern from Copperplate to Blackletter to all sorts of Arabic Diwany, Naskh, Riq3a and A lot of Chinese and Japanese Brush styles. I can teach you the rules and provide you with ways to practice the letters.

I also can teach you hand lettering which is different from Calligraphy in that the rules are much looser and it is very stylized, and is a lot more fun :)
