Dawn has wonderful instruction and is quite patient with new beginners like myself! Explanation is clear and she has a freakin wealth of knowledge about sewing, patterns, tips and tricks to make the outcome much neater, and starts off with the perfect projects for a beginner. Def a five start rating! :-)

Dawn is awesome! Very thorough with her explanations and really customizes lessons to my goals. She’s very encouraging and always reachable for questions outside of classes. Her hardware set up was conducive to on line lessons so it felt as much of an in person class as it could get. The lessons have really prepared me and got me excited for many more sewing projects!

I also have a 30 year + fashion industry experience in sewing, designing, technical drawing, CAD, and pattern making. 12 years from my 30+ experience were spent at The Art Institute of Fort lauderdale where I taught fashion and merchandising courses to college level students. During my time as a student at the Art Institute, I remember students clamoring to register for Ms. Pierre's courses in advanced pattern making, children wear and swimwear.  Her role as the professor and director of the annual fashion show class and event was amazing. During those events Mr Pierre took me under her wing and imparted priceless knowledge and wisdom that has helped me in my career years after graduating. She is beyond talentd, graceful, stylish and an exceptionally gifted lecturer. Ms Pierre keeps her students enthralled with her compelling knowledge of pattern making and design. I know absolutely no other professor who is as passionate about fashion design. Also who desires to help students understand how the proper pattern making process can bring a garment to life. All of her classes were always packed to capacity because she had an amazing abality to see her students potential and bring that greatness to the surface. So with that said it is my honor and privilege to recommend Guerda Pierre as an instructor.

Hello! I love teaching sewing because it is such a lost art. I offer basic sewing skills, how to read patterns, apply zippers, and pattern construction if you want to learn how to bring your own design to life. I teach all ages but especially enjoy teaching kids to give them something productive to do besides scrolling on their phone. I offer ¨sewcials¨ where adults can come together, enjoy a glass of wine, sew, and enjoy conversation. I am very adaptable and understand that ever student has their own needs.

I started sewing at the age of 10 when I made an apron for Mothers Day in my Girl Scout troop and ever since then I have been in love with making clothes.
