I've been seeing Sandra for 7 years and I consistently look forward to my lesson every week. I have seen myself improve tremendously in my singing, acting, and sight-reading. Sandra provides an atmosphere of serious learning in which I have been taught how to control by voice, but she is also very personable and always up for a fun chat. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher!
Linda
Fantastic teacher. I learned so much more in a short time with Sandra than I learned with all the other voice trainers I have had through the years. Her method is rewarding.

I do Stand-Up Comedy in midtown Manhattan and elsewhere. John has been a tremendous help to me as a coach. I continually schedule sessions with him, especially when I am developing a new routine or bringing back an older routine.
We work on two areas: Delivery and substance.
I find John’s experience as an actor invaluable in helping me develop the delivery of my routine. He advises me on pacing and on attitude – crucial in Stand-Up.
I also ask John for his opinions regarding the substance of my routines - structure and contents. It’s very important in Stand-Up to have drama and clear organization. John’s comments are always on-target and have helped me greatly.
John has provided me with a safe forum where I can present my material to him in rehearsal mode. He asks thoughtful questions which lead me to improve my routines so they will have a greater impact on the imaginations of the members of my audience.
It is a pleasure to recommend John. I recommend him highly.

John is fantastic to work with! He gets you to ask the right questions to get to the heart of a scene and of your character. He is incredibly intuitive and drawing from his experience as an actor and a director he creates a collaborative atmosphere that helps your creativity flourish!

John is such a great coach and teacher! He coached me for my upcoming play. John created such a safe environment, asked so many thought provoking questions, challenged me, provided innovative ideas, and gave me great insight into my character development. He is extremely professional, always very prepared for our sessions, and gives very helpful feedback. He always goes above and beyond. It is very evident that he is so passionate about our work and about helping me grow. I always feel so comfortable and encouraged in our coachings. I would absolutely recommend John as an acting coach and teacher!

Carole is a shining light in my creative life as an actress/singer and I recommend her highly. Class begins with an inspirational quote and group check-in which encourages an immediate vulnerability and tenderness in the work that ensues. She is funny and dear, and a most humble music theatre icon. She sows the seeds of depth, compassion, and discipline in the most beautifully humane way! Don't miss an opportunity to work with Carole.

"The real deal. I have been acting all my life. Additionally, I have worked in Europe, the UK and the USA. When I moved to LA, I had the chance to study with Addison and it was absolutely worth it. Not only does he know how the industry really works but also, he has a deep understanding of character and script analysis. Addison is going to help you to discover the different layers that each role has. When it comes to auditions, working with Addison makes a difference. Believe me, you will be " ready to be ready" and focused. I was terrified of trying acting for the first time, I thought because I was starting off late in the game I may be judged, or criticized, but as soon as Mia greeted me she made me feel as though I was immediately family. She is supportive, encouraging, and will give 110% at training you for any type of acting you wish to pursue! She even met with me for multiple classes per week before big auditions. I can proudly say I am now accepted and will be attending my first choice conservatory for a BFA in Contemporary Theater! Mia has the warmest, most beautiful heart of gold that I've ever seen. 5 Movie Monologues for Men to Practice Your Skills

Good monologues are hard to find. They are even harder to find when we are talking about film. Film is a very fast moving medium. We, as an audience, have been trained to expect to see something new every few seconds. Live theatre, however, has enjoyed a long and enriching relationship with the sustained attention of the monologue. Here, we are just going to focus on movie monologues for men, and how they help the actor hone their skills. First, we need to define the thing we are looking …

How to Read & Understand Stage Directions

If you’ve ever been in a play or musical you will be familiar with the term ‘stage directions’. For those who don’t know, stage directions are,  “an instruction in the text of a play, especially one indicating the movement, position, or tone of an actor.” Stage directions can also be instructions for the director, such as the way the stage should be lit or what kind of sound effect could be used.  Stage directions can also tell an actor how to deliver a line— pace of speech, emot …
