About Matt

I have been teaching guitar to students on the East and West Coasts of the United States for over 20 years. I was always interested in music and made my first “recording” at the age of 2 and a half. I got serious about playing the guitar when I was 10 years old after hearing the legendary Randy

Dylan was awesome! My 10 year old loved his first lesson and wants to sign up for more!

Our son loved Dylan and his DJ lesson nights. Dylan was able to walk us through the lessons that even our 8 year old was able to understand (with a little help from me on our end with online technical assistance.) The great thing is that Dylan was able to take over our screen to make learning Rekordbox that much easier. In four -30 min. sessions- our son is familiar with how and where to download music, where to find his music in Rekordbox, the process of placing beats, and what he needs to do to sync and mix two songs together. Now all he needs is a lot more practice! Dylan is that, "cool" DJ that any young child will look up to and enjoy spending time with. Highly recommend!

Whether you want to study classical piano in the traditional way or learn how to play your favorite songs for fun, I've got you covered. I have over 20 years of classical piano under my belt, about 6 years of playing pop/rock/jazz/beats, a music degree, and 3 years of teaching lessons. I've had the pleasure of teaching children and adults of all ages, including those with special needs and different physical abilities. I'm an empathetic, friendly, and flexible teacher who loves to see you love music!

About Anna

I hated piano as a kid!! Lessons felt rigid, obligatory, and really hard. It wasn't until I got to high school and started exploring my own musical interests that everything turned around. That's why I love to ask my students what music they like: because music should be fun, personal, and inspiring

Sewing at Home: 3 Easy Sewing Projects for Children

The energy that my first time sewing students bring to the very first class is wonderful. They are so excited about the creative possibilities that learning to sew will bring them. Often this excitement is tempered by the fear of using a sewing machine. I start by encouraging them to do some easy sewing projects for children, so they can get comfortable with using a sewing machine. It is also a great way to learn some very basic sewing skills. The following projects are quite simple, quick and u …

6 Tips For Improving Your Chess Game

Back around 2014, I decided I was going to improve at chess. I watched a few videos online about some openings, played a few dozen blitz games online, and then promptly lost interest within a week. Four years later, I decided to pick it up again and in less than a year, I had gone from 1100 to 1900 Elo rating online. Obviously, I changed how I went about my improvement! So here are the steps that I took the second time around that got me to where I am now, and some ways you can improve your ches …

Chess Rules: a Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

I will admit to you, the reader, that most of the articles I have written thus far assume that the reader is already a fairly avid chess player, who is aware of the basic rules of chess and thus is interested in learning more advanced strategies, traps, and tricks with the goal of decisively defeating the opponent. But, of course, not everybody is born knowing all the rules of chess---there are, in fact, many out there who are unfamiliar with the game, and need an introduction to learn ch …
