Language is a fun trick. Grammar has a foundational importance to every language, however, learning the nuances of the language becomes primary, the more you learn it. You can speak a language grammatically correctly from start to end, however, what makes you sound like a native is understanding and utilizing the feelings and nuances of the particular language. I am a 1.5 generation Korean, with fluency in both Korean and English. I can help you impress the Korean folks around you before you know it!

I came from South Korean and have more than 17 years of teaching Korean experience. I am currently working at the Korean school where I am also the principal of the school. I have taught students and adults at various levels, from the beginners level to the advanced level, and by explaining the differences between Korean and English to students during my first class, my students quickly pick up this beautiful language.

I have completed the course of becoming a Korean language instructor in Korea and have gained experience and skills from teaching Korean at Korean language school and through private lessons.

I evaluate students' levels and then select the appropriate materials to provide the most effective learning experience. I discuss with students and arrange convenient times for each other to study Korean too.

About INSOO

An important virtue as a teacher is to quickly find out what your students need. And to apply it well in class. I have developed the skills needed as a teacher through a variety of experiences. I majored in Accounting in college and completed my MBA. I worked for a long time at a Korean securities f

When you request lessons please message me to let me know your goal and your Korean level. This helps me prepare for the class. Unfortunately, if I do not hear from you I may need to reject your request. I love meeting all my students so I do not want to do that unless absolutely necessary.

📢 CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING, AND NO SHOWS
If you need to reschedule or cancel a lesson, I need to be notified 24 hours in advance. If you ask to change after this 24-hour period I will have to charge you the full price of the lesson. This same rule applies if you are over 15 minutes late and you have not contacted me beforehand. I adjust my life and schedule around these lessons, so please understand why I need to be strict about this type of situation.

➫ Over the course of 7 years, I have taught English at a cram school, secondary school, and one-to-one tutor sessions in Korea. During my graduate school, I was a teaching assistant for colleges. I checked the college students’ homework and gave ...

Eileen is patient and methodical, and she explains difficult points well. I'm grateful for her help!

This was my very first session and it was great. We jumped right into work after we talked about my starting level. She was very patient and very easy to talk with. I loved the fact that she broke down the sounds to me from how the tone should sound to how my face should move for certain vowels and consonants. I can't wait until second session.

I really love that the lessons are personalized and that we can stop and try again with anything that comes more slowly to me personally, and that we can go faster with the things that I get more quickly. Today we learned the colors, the consonants, and the basic vowels as well as reviewing some basic Korean phrases from last week. Jihye is so nice and very pleasant. Thank you, Jihye!
