I've taken guitar lessons on and off for a while, and Cameron is hands-down the best teacher I've had. He points out specific technical good points and bad points, and offers concrete suggestions and examples for improvement. The lesson material is progressively challenging, but not overwhelming, and is targeted to the student's interests, and lessons are fun and interesting. Fantastic instructor.
Tessa
Cameron is an excellent teacher for me. I am 11 years old and have been playing for almost a year with him. He is patient and makes me stretch to be a better guitarist. He takes time to find songs at my level of learning and accommodates my tastes in music. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in playing guitar.

I enjoyed my first lesson with Cameron. He explained things clearly so I could understand. Can't wait for my next lesson.

I've been working with Nate for almost a year now in the band Mile Twelve, and my experience with him has been incredible. Not only is he a amazingly well-learned, proficient, and creative musician, but he's one of the most understanding and helpful guys that I know. I've learned so much from playing with Nate, and I know his students are in good hands.
Joe
Working with Nate is great! By working step by step through a couple songs I brought with me, and I noticed an across-the-board improvement in my playing after the first lesson. Plus, we have a good time of it!
Reid
Nate has a very good ear, and is quickly able to identify problems, and thoroughly explain how to fix them. Whether a technique thing, or subtle nuances in timing, or tone, Nate always finds the clear path to expressing the goal, and how to get there.
I'd recommend Nate to anyone seeking to improve their playing. The rest is practice, practice, practice.

The Bass Guitar is a fun instrument that can often prove hard for beginners! My approach brakes down playing the bass guitar into its simplest technical and musical parts to save unwanted frustration and instead, provide a comfortable, confident foundation for students to accomplish their goals with the instrument. Students will learn to play songs, read chords charts, and a variety of other skills. These lessons can prepare you to play with other musicians. As a bass guitar player, I have played in bands and for various recordings.

I am a professional drummer, hand drummer, music producer and recording artist. I graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a degree in music education and percussion performance. I am a New York State Certified music educator with over 6 years of private and classroom teaching experience. A

I have been playing and teaching music for over 20 years now. I was lucky enough to study with a grammy award winning musician.
Lessons specialize in Beginner/Intermediate Electric Bass Guitar. Based upon the goals and proficiency of the student, lessons are customized to reach each student's needs. I believe music and/or playing in a band can be one of the most fun and rewarding things someone can do in their life. I can help teach you the skills needed to become fluent on your instrument. The sooner you get a lesson plan and plan your goals, you will get better much faster. Some of the subjects I cover are: Beginning music theory, chord progressions, intervals, ear training, tips and things I've learned along my 20 years that i'm going to break down and show shortcuts to save a lot of time, learning to jam with a band, What happens if you learn a song, and when you show up to play the singer says its in a different key? We will cover that. Imagine a plane flying to Florida, and the

Bass guitar students start with five subjects.

1) Technique is concerned with the development of the physical mechanics involved in playing the instrument.

2) Scales are part of the basic vocabulary and building blocks of the musical language.

3) Intervals are also basic vocabulary of the musical language and progress into chords, and yes, bass players think and play chords.

4) Note reading is not required for every student. It really depends on the student's goals. However, I strongly encourage learning to read musical notation, (more than tablature). Literacy in reading music is analogous to literacy in reading in our English language. Can you imagine how much smaller our world would be if we couldn't read?

5) Songs utilize the skills and concepts of all the previously mentioned subjects and are the goal of studying music. And by the way, they are really fun to play, especially when interacting with other musicians or performing for an audience.

These five ...

Phil is a consummate musician and is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He helped me to arrange several songs and encouraged me to write my own arrangements, as that really helps one better understand the instrument. I loved our lessons on learning all the scales and modes, too.

Phillips teaching is very low key and suttle but very effective. I am astounded at how much he has taught me in a few weeks.
