Oboe has been my passion since I was 12 years old. I am originally from Kansas City, MO. However, I currently reside in Tallahassee, FL and am in my fourth year of pursuing my Bachelors in Woodwind Performance at Florida State University. I have numerous years of performance experience and have three years of teaching experience. My goals are to help younger students have the solid foundations required to be successful at playing the oboe. Working on breath support, technique, and even reed making. Switching to oboe from another instrument can be especially difficult, and all of my teaching experience is with students who have switched.
I currently, play in a local church orchestra, aside from my school ensembles. Additionally, I have played in community orchestras, as well as a few pit orchestra jobs, and some Christmas church performances. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with anyone and everyone. The oboe brings a lot of joy into my life, and I hope to share that passion ...

My passion for music began when I was seven years old. It all started for me with composition and improvisation. I love to create my own original music and I have since the very beginning of my musical journey. To this day, composition and improvisation are some of my favorite things to do and favorite things to teach. My love of creating original music inspired me to write an educational book on the topic and develop my own unique method for approaching these topics.
My teaching philosophy includes an integrated method of intellectual and creative development. It is truly unfortunate that so often music theory is presented as a mere collection of naming systems and rules. To me, understanding music with the mind is a key ingredient to becoming an effective and inspired artist. In music lessons, I teach not just how to talk about music but the fascinating complexity of how music operates - the fundamental principles that illuminate the translation of sound into thoughts and emotional
