Eloy is a very advanced player. He is super nice and SUPER patient. I understand everything he is doing right out of the box for me. I have been playing on and off for about 5 years. I love to play lead. He starts me out with scales. The back bone of lead. He knows exactly where to start. I have had a really positive time with him and actually booked many many more lessons with him. I HIGHLY recommend Eloy for lessons. Thank you Eloy!!

I have been a student of Tim’s for a little over a year now. I started playing guitar at age 52 and when I started with Tim I was very close to giving up or settling on just being able to strum a few chords. I have had many hand injuries in the past that have resulted in arthritis and lack of dexterity in my wrists and some of my fingers and I started doubting I would ever be able to progress in my ability to play. From the very first lesson where I told Tim about my hand issues and my frustrations, he told me he was sure we could work around any physical limitations I had, and he was right. Tim has been able to work with me on alternative ways to play the chords I was having trouble with and has shown me that these alternate techniques along with the bit of music theory he sprinkles into lessons can really expand my ability to play.

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.

Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him.
Sam
Tim is an excellent guitar teacher and an overall great guy. He provided me with structure and support, enabling me to make the most out of my practice and ultimately progress as a player. His warm personality and contagious enthusiasm for music kept me looking forward to our time together each week. He was also very flexible when it came to scheduling to accommodate for my dynamic schedule.

Tim is an excellent teacher, providing excellent advice, practice techniques, and insights. He makes learning and improving easy and enjoyable.

I studied music theory at the Rhode Island School of Modern Music, at the Mannes Conservatory of Music in Manhattan, and at the Reuben Conservatory, in Jerusalem, Israel.
My background in theory is primarily in jazz, which uses some slightly different terminology than classical theory, but mostly applies to all styles, especially as pertains to beginning theory.

About Linda

I have been teaching music (guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, recorder, music theory, and classes for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults) for over 20 years. I am also a band/show director at the School of Rock! In addition to teaching music, I also tuto

so happy I chose to have Linda as my teacher ! she's patient with me (a beginner who does not always have time to practice regularly) and is super helpful with giving me tips and advice on how to be better. Linda can also play ANY song and has helped me learn tons of my favorites. We're working on Annie's Song right now and Linda has helped me not only understand how to play the notes but why we play them a certain way (heck yeah music theory !)

Linda is great. I left with a big smile on my face!

Linda is awesome. After 3 lessons I'm getting pretty good at a couple of basic rolls and have a song to work on. She is patient and knowledgeable, and has helped me get basic technique going. So far so good.

Adam's knowledge of music, and Music Theory is extensive and comprehensive, and yet he has the ability to break down these complicated theoretical concepts and make them easy to understand for even the most basic learner. I have seen him successfully tutor students at all levels of musical knowledge and experience. If you need to know ANYTHING about music, I strongly recommend you reach out to Adam for services."

"Tomoko is a fantastic tutor. I had a lot of trouble understanding music theory because it had been a topic I hadn't seen before. She was able to explain things to me in a very clear and easy way. She was also able to help me with ear training lessons which was also surprisingly easy, considering it was a topic I felt I had a lot of trouble with at the time. She's one of the best, no doubt.

Also, if you happen to get piano lessons from her, I'm sure you'll get more than your money's worth. She's an amazing jazz, classical, and overall pianist."

How to Change the Key of a Song With and Without a Computer

What Does it Mean to Change a Key? To change a song’s “key” means to shift the whole musical system to a higher or lower position. This process is called “transposition.” Performers often need transpose a song to better fit their voices. That way, a performer with a naturally lower singing voice (like myself) will be able to more comfortably sing a song that was originally written for someone with a naturally higher voice. Or vice versa.  For singers, transposition feels fairly …
