Private Acoustic Guitar tutoring lessons Leverett, MA.

I will teach you how to read music notes, understand rhythm, and utilize different strumming patterns. You will learn how to read tabs and play chords. I will teach you finger-style guitar using alternating right hand fingers to produce melody and harmonies. As with all instruments I teach, I will create sheet music on my computer software for you to play your favorite songs whether it's with music notes or tablature format.

I began learning the language of music since the 3rd grade. I have used that knowledge and consistent practice to excel at 3 different instruments saxophone , piano and guitar . I love to sing , play old and current songs as well as write my own music on the guitar. I want to teach you all of the skills needed to play guitar effectively. I will teach you timing , how to form chord shapes , strum patterns , reading tab or notes on the staff , rhythm as well as solo guitar. Playing the guitar should be fun so I will show you fun easy riffs to play as we move forward to more challenging material along the way. I believe that music can truly heal the soul. Growing up I come from a family that loves music, and I embraced it cherish it as a pure element. A Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.), I have a background in teaching and coaching sports, as well as giving music lessons. I am fingerprinted backgrounded checked to educate pre-school age and K-12 children and have a long history doing so. I have worked professionally with children in every age group including age 2, and adults of elderly age. I also have worked with those with ADHD, post-stroke, type 1 diabetes, etc.; I am very comfortable and sympathetic to adjustments whenever necessary. I'm a yoga instructor, and have a very easy-going vibe, though I am surprisingly organized and believe in always finding creative techniques to surpass our goals sooner than thought possible. I know whatever your goals are we can work to get you there, and I will always be here for support during and after private lessons with me.

The Acoustic Guitar is a beautiful instrument that can often prove hard for beginners! My approach brakes down playing guitar into its simplest technical and musical parts to save unwanted frustration and instead, provide a comfortable, confident foundation for students to accomplish their goals with the instruments. Lessons prepare students to play songs, read chords, and a variety of other skills. As an acoustic guitar player, I have years of accompaniment experience as both a singer song writer and children's entertainer.

I have a fluid teaching approach based on my REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE with an emphasis on improving technique, musicianship and a “truth is love approach” to ensure musical improvement within the first two weeks of lessons! I sincerely believe creating music should be a joyful & fulfilling experience and one that will be a positive change in someone’s life (as it has been for mine). I teach all genres of music on multiple instruments and specialize in audition preparation, real-life gig preparation and musical mastery. I want my students to reach their musical potential and aspirations, while having a good time doing something that they love.

I studied guitar privately with Steve Saventi Studios. Styles studied were Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical. Played professionally in a band at the age of 15.

I attended Duquesne University School of Music, Pittsburgh, PA as a piano major and then Berklee School of Music, Boston, MA in music theory. I am also a Songwriter and Producer with BMI and have composed and produced hundreds of songs. As you can see, I am quite versatile and would be very eager to speak to you.
