Ms. Sally is a great teacher who teaches both our two daughters, currently 8 and 4 years old. She is very approachable, patient and knowledgeable. Both my daughters love her and have progressed very fast since taking her piano lessons, and we are very excited about their next levels! My big daughter also takes voice lesson with Ms. Sally's husband, Mr. Tim, shortly after starting her piano lessons, and has also made significant progress over shortly a few months of time. We have been building a great relationship as between our families too =)

I'm not young, and I'm hard to teach music theory to, but he was patient, and is helping me figure a way into learning important stuff that I find kinda dry and not fun to practice. (I'm a good player, but music theory is very challenging to me.)

My daughter enjoyed the first lesson very much! Looking forward to more!

Ms. Ozawa,
Is a wonderful teacher. She observes and evaluates a student's skills and then discusses with you areas that need improvement. She teachers students how to use breathing and piano together. Overall I am so happy I found her and was able to learn all the basic from her. I have been to a few other teachers in the past and did not get from them what she taught me. She taught me how to understand music better and how appreciate such a wonderful art.

Ezra is currently teaching my six year old son and I on the piano. He is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of the piano (eg, history, theory, fundamentals, artistry, technique, etc.). I have played piano in the past, but he is expanding the depths of my understanding of it. Ezra is able to be patient with my son, while still holding him to a certain expectation. His love and appreciation of music is apparent. I would highly recommend him.
Robin
Ezra has been an excellent instructor for my daughter over the past few years. She has grown from a fledgling beginner to a confident young player, gaining skill and confidence as well as an appreciation for music. Ezra balances encouragement with high expectations that help her to improve. I would highly recommend lessons with Ezra to anyone looking to gain proficiency and joy in playing the piano!
Doreen
Ezra has challenged my 13-year-old son over the last 2 years! We are so pleased with the progress our son has made with a variety of piano pieces - classical as well as "popular." He has kept our son actively playing and progressing impressively with his piano skills! He communicates with parents frequently, and he connects and understands how to tap into a student's potential! We have been impressed with his teachings! Highly recommend him!

Private Piano Teacher

I’m a pianist, composer and educator with over 17 years experience teaching piano, composition, production and ear training. I have worked with students of all ages, from complete beginner to conservatory level and professional artists.

My pedagogy is based on the premise that music is a language. As such, my teaching focuses on:
(1) helping students to hear, identify and understand musical elements in real time (from individual notes, to harmony and chord progressions, ear training and sight reading); and
(2) connect this understanding to becoming a proficient pianist, sight reader and improviser.

I cater lessons to the goals of the individual, curating a step by step process aimed at achieving their objectives. Lessons are driven by building solid foundations for long-term progress and success, while having fun. My principles are universally applicable across all styles, including Jazz, Classical, Pop, Funk, Blues and more, whether improvising or performing.

I graduated from the ...

Nick is a fantastic teacher! Since starting out, I really wanted to learn jazz improvisation, and improve my technique through playing classical pieces. I have learnt so much about composition and analysis as well, and I've started to write my own material as well. I feel super comfortable with Nick's style; he's a great communicator, very direct and down to earth, but always focus on ensuring there's progress. He's clearly very experienced, and has a great setup for online learning.

"We began virtual piano lessons with Alex in March 2020, having been in person for 3 years. I feared that my son would lose the engagement of having his instructor at his with tactile corrections. These online sessions were the silver lining of the lockdown in fact! Alex has a knack for challenging our son all the while being patient & encouraging. Our family watched him play & remarked that he seemed to enjoy his piano playing. I have the virtuoso Alex to thank for that."
