Some people might fare better with this instructor. More chatting than instructing. Usually telling stories trying to sell himself and talk about how great he is. Delusional ideas about your relationship. Accusatory. Takes things personally. Burns bridges. Claims to be a vocal therapist but doesn't do any vocal therapy. Can provide bad advice and medical information.

This was my first piano lesson in 50 years. It was everything I hoped it would be... intellectual, fun, relaxed... and it filled me with hope that I could finally make something out of a musical instrument I left in the dust so many years ago. Jimi is wonderful to talk with and work with. This was beyond my expectations.

I’m 80 years old and play sax in a Senior band. I signed up for several lessons with Jimi Z. to improve my tone and breathing. I think Jimi did a great job with me, and I recommend Jimi for sax lessons. Dan Ginsberg

Saxophone:
A family of woodwind instruments, saxophones are usually made of brass and played with a single-reed mouthpiece similar to that of the clarinet. Like the clarinet, saxophones have holes in the instrument which the player closes using a system of key mechanisms. When the player presses a key, this typically causes a pad to close over a hole. There is soprano, alto, tenor, bass and baritone saxophones. The great thing about learning saxophone is it is almost the same fingers as flute and clarinet! We will start with the basics of learning finger placement, breath control, notes, reading, rhythms, songs, theory and improvising.

About Karen

Karen obviously loves the piano & guitar. She’s probably an excellent teacher for those instruments. Why do I say that? That’s what she talked about! She spent half my lesson trying to convince me to learn one of those instruments. Could work on listening skills! Not even sure if she owns a set of bongos herself. Didn’t start teaching me anything until last 10 min & then I had to leave early anyway. So 50 min out of 60 and about 5 I actually learned a few things I could have been practicing for at least 30 min of class. Use her if you want to learn something else other than bongos.

Ms. Karen did a pretty good job, she had ideas for the lesson and provided ideas for the next lesson. She went out of her way to help me with this new idea---------"music" and "reading music." If there was any short fall in the lesson it was on my side and my preparation failings. I have no problem recommending Ms. Karen to others. Regards, JC

Extremely knowledgeable! Karen is a superb guitar instructor. Honestly, I was struggling. Discouraged! She helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses, and moved me from beginner to intermediate in a matter of months. If you’re getting tired of learning from YouTube and smart phone apps, let Karen kick start your guitar playing. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks Karen!!

I individualize each students instruction. I keep in mind the students and parents goals and schedule when I make this plan.

About Harry

I started playing clarinet in the school band at age six. My father was a musician, and he thought that playing in the school band would help me overcome my extreme shyness. I remember my first music lesson. I really liked my teacher. He came to my house, and he helped me to care for my clarinet

Harry helped my daughter polish up some pieces for an audition. She was nervous and didn't feel fully prepared. Three visits from Harry gave her some great instruction and the confidence to go in and nail her audition!

My son has had three lessons so far, and we have been very impressed. Mr. Grainger does a great job of encouraging my son through positive feedback, making lessons fun, and giving him very specific, targeted feedback to improve his playing. He has been very flexible and responsive to our changing needs. I highly recommend him.

"The lesson was for my grandson who is 13. It is difficult for him to focus, but he seemed to follow Randall for the entire lesson. He was introduced to quite a bit of information. This next week will provide information on what he is able to retain. For my part, I was pleased with the bits of musical history that Randall imparted, so I am receiving benefit from listening in."

"excellent instructor and a wonderful person

I have been taking music lessons with Daniel since April of 2013 and it has been a great learning experience.

I had no musical background and I started learning Saxophone with Daniel and 7 months later, I am able to play popular songs that he chooses to fit best for enhancing learning curve. He does a great job with reinforcing correct habits from the very beginning and has been very encouraging and has highlighted improvement as we go from class to class. As music learning can be frustratingly slow, the feedback and reassurance he provides definitely helps in keep going back for more.

I wanted to learn guitar and piano with him as well, he encouraged to learn only Piano (for enhancing learning curve for musical theory concepts) and hold guitar for later. Which speaks about how he is genuinely concerned about your learning of music with sound reasoning. So now I take guitar and Piano lessons with him. He is very patient, polite and professional. He is great with students of all ages and easily modifies teaching style as per student needs.

Besides all that he is a great person to talk to. Numerous times we have had great discussions about things outside music.

I would highly recommend Daniel for music lessons to everyone."
