Neguine was great. Patient and easy-going. My son enjoyed the lesson and looks forward to the next one.

Neguine teaches piano to my two children, ages 8 and 6, and she’s been wonderful. She comes to our house and immediately the house is a calm friendly place to learn music. She’s patient with my kids who love piano but are still little, and she has a good sense of humor when they want to try something a little quirky. They also have been making great strides with sightreading, and their eagerness to learn more has only increased. Neguine also does not rush the kids: If a child needs to repeat part of a lesson for another week as she is good about making sure kids reinforce what they’re learning, which is something I appreciate, and my kids have learned to appreciate that too. I highly recommend her!

Acoustic Guitar:
Acoustic guitar is such a great instrument for so many reasons. With my method, not only will the student learn the songs and styles they love, but they will become musicians while doing it.
So many guitarists feel limited, because they never learned the basics of notes, chords, technique, and theory. I will unlock the fingerboard and make learning music fun! Student will bring in songs they like to learn.

About Karen

Hi! My name is Karen D. I’ve had the pleasure of performing, singing, writing, and recording since I was seven years old. Besides being an Honor Graduate of Berklee School of Music, I have been a lifelong student of the international world-renowned instructors Dante Pavone and Charlie Banacos.

Karen obviously loves the piano & guitar. She’s probably an excellent teacher for those instruments. Why do I say that? That’s what she talked about! She spent half my lesson trying to convince me to learn one of those instruments. Could work on listening skills! Not even sure if she owns a set of bongos herself. Didn’t start teaching me anything until last 10 min & then I had to leave early anyway. So 50 min out of 60 and about 5 I actually learned a few things I could have been practicing for at least 30 min of class. Use her if you want to learn something else other than bongos.

Ms. Karen did a pretty good job, she had ideas for the lesson and provided ideas for the next lesson. She went out of her way to help me with this new idea---------"music" and "reading music." If there was any short fall in the lesson it was on my side and my preparation failings. I have no problem recommending Ms. Karen to others. Regards, JC

Extremely knowledgeable! Karen is a superb guitar instructor. Honestly, I was struggling. Discouraged! She helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses, and moved me from beginner to intermediate in a matter of months. If you’re getting tired of learning from YouTube and smart phone apps, let Karen kick start your guitar playing. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks Karen!!

Mr. Tarantola has taught my three kids to play piano and to read music. Their confidence in their music abilities has grown over the years as they continue to learn. The skills they learned with Mr. Tarantola has helped them in school music, band and in learning new instruments such as drum set and clarinet. Mr. Tarantola has the ability and personality to teach all ages including new beginners such as I - who began lessons in my 40's. Highly recommend!

I teach my students songwriting methods and later give them an opportunity to record an original song in my home studio. Each student's journey is unique. Together we go through 5 of their favorite artists and we learn from them while embracing originality.

To me, learning any instrument is about balancing the exercises with the fun material that makes you want to keep playing. I am a technique-focused teacher insofar as making sure any student of mine is avoiding bad and sometimes unhealthy habits in their playing. I do, however, try to find fun ways to work on technique, with the end goal being playing repertoire that is fun for the student. I believe technical exercises have their place in learning any instrument, but that it's important to spend the majority of your practice time on material which is ultimately enjoyable to play.

I do have certain sets of books I like to follow depending on the student's interests and age, but I am always happy to tweak the lesson plan to fit the student's needs. I also tend to supplement whichever books I'm using with material of my own, to make sure we're also covering important topics such as music theory and maybe a bit of relevant music history in the process.

About Joshua

Hi there! My name is Josh, and I'd love to be your teacher! I've been playing guitar since I was eight, starting out playing rock and roll, then focusing on classical training for my college career. In both undergraduate and graduate school, I studied classical composition as a classical guitarist,

Joshua has helped me become a better guitar player by showing me how I can work towards my goals, and giving me exercises, information and musical practice that makes my goals attainable. Joshua is a student-directed teacher, and he has worked with me to focus on my areas of interest (songwriting and fingerstyle/chord work). He is willing to answer questions, responsive to ideas, and able to explain difficult concepts. I've learned things that will help me improve my guitar playing for years. Thank you, Joshua.

I was self taught when I started taking lessons, Josh helped me fix some bad habits that helped me push my playing to the next level!

I grew up on bossa, and wanted to learn how to play it. I had played guitar for years but mostly rock and folk. Josh was able to take what I knew and teach me how to play bossa music.

My experience with Justin has inspired me to pursue music with a much more serious attitude. He helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses, and now I feel like I'm truly making progress. "The best! Her curriculum and teaching style is excellent, and you can tell she tailors her lessons to the particular student. As someone starting acoustic guitar in their mid-twenties, I wasn't sure what to expect going into lessons at a late age. But Lena was open and welcoming! She is also patient and so encouraging! "Francesca Valle is more than your average guitar teacher. I never feel like I'm doing her enough justice when I refer to her as "my guitar teacher" because she has honestly been more like a mentor than anything else. I can honestly say that I don't think I would have gotten anywhere with my music if it weren't for her. Because of Francesca, I have grown so much as an artist in songwriting, recording, and performing.

If you are looking for a teacher that knows what they're talking about and how to bring out the best in their students, Francesca is the teacher for you."

"Although I was forced to select a subject of Acoustic Guitar on the review form, my children and I have also taken lessons with Mel Parker on every subject in the pick list plus a few more. Theory, composition, recording. Improvisation techniques, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, violin, bass, mandolin, ear training, techniques applied to all music genre's, group and solo performance techniques, ETC! The main point here is that as an accomplished and talented musician, Mel Parker is fluent in the music industry and very skilled at teaching all skill levels, from beginner to pro. He can teach very rigid focused lessons or he can shift and adjust the lesson instantly to meet the needs of the student. My children have been able to explore and experiment different instruments, genre's and other areas of the music industry as their interests grew and changed over the years. They have had many changes in their interests but the one constant has been the TEACHER! It is wonderful to be able to have 1 teacher adjust his education for the ever changing and growing needs of my family. Both of my children are now very accomplished award winning performers and we all agree that Mel Parker has been/is the primary influencer in their accomplishments."
