I teach with an emphasis on learning and understanding the chords of music. Usually the lesson books are used for techniques and proper playing, but the real joy comes from playing the music that each student loves. I'm good at finding that music for every student even if I have to write the notes out myself. I want them to play what inspires them and develop a love of music for life.

About Faye

I am very patient and generous with my time. I can relate well to young children through seniors.

One of the most commonly asked question I get is:

"Will an online lesson be as good of an experience compared to having in person/live lessons?"

And my answer is YES!

With my online set up you will NOT be missing out on in person lessons. In fact I think online lessons has an advantage over live lessons because the student has a clear visual of their body movements at all times which would be a huge benefit like in situations where you can easily do side by side comparisons with your teacher. It would also be highly beneficial in correcting bad posture.

Rubina is great! She's super helpful, patient, and encouraging. She is very responsive, and flexible with her schedule. She moves at my pace and is great at assessing my skills and gauging what I need from my lessons. I highly recommend her to anyone just starting out, or those who have prior experience but would like more formal training.

She was also super helpful with troubleshooting my camera/device issues, and even sent me youtube videos to assist with getting the right setup.

Thanks Rubina! I can't wait to continue our lessons.

My passion is teaching music as a language that you will come to understand. I don't only teach notes on a page, but an understand of music theory (the building blocks of music). If you want to know not just how to play, but also create music, send me a message! I learned to play piano by ear, and then studied classical repertoire as well. I have 10 years experience in gospel music, and 2 years gigging in a country band. I have taught piano lessons for 6 years, and have had a variety of students from different backgrounds along the way. My goal is to teach a variety of styles and tailor lessons to your unique musical taste! Everyone's musical journey is different, and so each lesson is personalized to your needs.

About Lane

I am a professional keyboard player for a country cover band, and I also play regularly in churches. I learned to play piano by ear, and have a rich background in gospel music. I'm a piano, voice, and songwriting teacher with over 10 years experience in teaching, playing, singing, and musical directing!
I teach classical, rock, broadway, pop, and improvisational piano. I teach voice for musical theatre as well. I’m always able to get my students to a higher level quickly, while making sure they have fun and make their own discoveries about the music they’re approaching along the way.
I’ve been the musical director of a youth theatre program for 10 years, and a piano and voice teacher at a music studio in LA for around 2 years as well.

I love to inspire the artist within every student, and to make them believe they can play anything. I often try to sneak more musical knowledge into a lesson than what is typically presented at their level, since I believe everyone can musically accomplish a whole lot more than what they might think they’re capable of at first.

I love to help people understand their own unique musical inspiration, and to help them be drawn

"Jonathan is incredibly skilled, a great teacher, fun, and very patient with our gregarious and somewhat distracted 9-year old boy. He has creative, tailored teaching techniques, will try new things, but also keeps our son motivated and progressing. He responds perfectly and patiently to my son when he veers off task, and gets him back on task. We are absolutely thrilled and couldn't have found a better teacher."

"Josh has been teaching our two kids piano, mixture of classical and popular, for about four years now. At this point one of our kids is 13 and the other 11. He's a wonderful, inspiring, enthusiastic and all round excellent piano teacher. Our kids are very different, and the younger one, our daughter, is slower to catch on. Josh is incredibly patient, and keeps her engaged. In the case of our son, he mixes classical with popular, and picks up on songs my son enjoys, to keep the lessons interesting. Josh typically would come to our home to teach two back-to-back lessons. More recently he has gone remote/online. In either setting he's just spectacular. We recommend him highly . . . and have recommended him to friends all of whom feel similarly about him as we do. He's also a really nice guy, and a pleasure to have in the house. He's also helped us with entertainment at a family function. Get in touch with Josh, you won't be sorry."

Not only does he know everything there is to know about music, he's interested in keeping the lessons and learning interesting and fun. You can tell he really cares about trying to help his students to both progress, learn some theory, but to have fun and build skills they'll use/enjoy for a long time. Really impressive."

Learning the Piano: 5 Ways to Bring Out the Melody in Songs

How do you make your melodies shine when you're learning the piano?
