Let's Play Music!
Many people think that music is a long and grueling process that takes years before being any fun, but this couldn't be any farther from the truth!

Especially in this day and age with so many resources available, it does not have to take decades to reach a fun and satisfactory level of musicianship.

What you are looking for is someone who can teach you what YOU want to know.

My approach to music teaching is fully CUSTOMIZABLE.
Instead of following a strict curriculum, every lesson is tailored specifically to your goals and interests.

Not interested in reading notes? No problem.
Only want to cover your favorite pop songs? You got it.
Trying to write your own stuff? Let's focus there!

Whatever makes music fun for you, you can count on me to help you find less work and more play.

For every student I keep a shared Log of our lessons together documenting what we worked on, resources we used, and goals or practice ideas for the week. My inbox is always open ...

First lesson and I've already learned how to teach myself one of my favorite songs (which I can now play a few hours after my lesson) and some helpful music theory!

My 16-year-old ---who had not practiced for over a year---is absolutely loving her lessons with Ms. Avenira! With only 3 lessons, I am now seeing the spark for playing the violin return to my daughter's eyes. Ms. Avenira is meeting my daughter "where she is" and truly customizing lessons to move her forward. She provides detailed updates for each lesson, and I could not be happier with my investment. Excellent teacher.
Michelle P.
Avenira really connected with my 14 year old, while our daughter has always been enthusiastic to learn an instrument, putting in the practice and the work has been a challenge in the past. Avenira's format, which allows flexibility for how the student learns best, is really working. My daughter has been practicing every night (unprompted by us), and is really excited abut her next lesson with Avenira. She also loves that she can learn both guitar and piano with Avenira, since she is interested in both. Avenira was very motivating, complimenting our daughter for being focused and for doing a great job during the lesson. Definitely would rate Avenira A+++++++!!

I've taken guitar lessons on and off for a while, and Cameron is hands-down the best teacher I've had. He points out specific technical good points and bad points, and offers concrete suggestions and examples for improvement. The lesson material is progressively challenging, but not overwhelming, and is targeted to the student's interests, and lessons are fun and interesting. Fantastic instructor.

Cameron is an excellent teacher for me. I am 11 years old and have been playing for almost a year with him. He is patient and makes me stretch to be a better guitarist. He takes time to find songs at my level of learning and accommodates my tastes in music. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in playing guitar.

I enjoyed my first lesson with Cameron. He explained things clearly so I could understand. Can't wait for my next lesson.

Jim was patient, he analyzed how I played , what I knew and he tailored lessons around what I knew. That way I got the most out of my time and money spent. I can go on and on about Jimmy but for you sake I'll just say that I highly recommend him"

Why You Should Learn (At Least a Little) Music Theory
