About Matt

I have been teaching guitar to students on the East and West Coasts of the United States for over 20 years. I was always interested in music and made my first “recording” at the age of 2 and a half. I got serious about playing the guitar when I was 10 years old after hearing the legendary Randy

I believe in the extraordinary power of music to communicate, to inspire and, often, to heal. That belief underlies all my work. I’ve been a classical singer for 30 years and have sung leading soprano roles with the Caramoor Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Britten/Aldeburgh Festival, Glimmerglass Opera and the Orchestra of St. Luke's, among many others. I also have extensive experience performing many pop genres, including jazz. The fundamentals of vocal technique underlie all my teaching, but the individual approach is tailored to each student, whatever his or her age or experience.

My goal is to help you find the power to express through singing your unique self. It doesn't matter whether your voice is professional quality or whether it's even "good" in the conventional sense. It's YOUR voice. It has its own sound and characteristics, its own particular beauty, and the world needs to hear you!

I have advanced training and expertise in musical study and vocal ...

Nancy is kind and caring. She really takes the time to get to know you and your voice in order to craft a method that works best for you. I started out with no real experience and a bunch of bad habits, and she has been able to effortlessly work with that. I look forward to my lesson with her every week. I knew the moment I saw her profile that she stood out from the rest. Don't hesitate to give her a try!

Nancy is the best instructor i could have hoped for! I was very shy and insecure about my voice. She knew exactly how to work with me to sing confidently.
After a month of working with Nancy, i realized that with practice, i too can become a good singer. My goal is to have a mini concert for friends this summer. I’m confident that my lessons with Nancy will get me there

Hello! My name is Kathryn (Kat) Baker and I am The Singing Kat! My musical education started young and consisted of some of the top institutions in the world. This includes Berklee College of Music, The Tanglewood Institute, and Johns Hopkins Peabody Preparatory, among others. I have worked with The Boston Pop's directed by John Williams, The Boston Symphony Orchestra, The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, The Baltimore Opera Company, and The Grammy award winning Peabody Children's Chorus. My teaching philosophy is centered around one word, 'acceptance'. We accept where we are, while working towards where we want to be. Learning an instrument is not easy. Arming the student with the tools of patience, self-love, and self-acceptance, is what will keep their drive and ambition ...

I have been playing piano since I was five years old and first began lessons. I mostly play pop music, but I also have experience in classical, theater, jazz, and other genres. As a teacher, it's important to me that students enjoy what they're doing and not only develop a strong foundation of theory but also a love for music. I think there is value in everything musical and I cater my lessons to my students' interests and goals.

Great instructor! My daughter has learned so much and is excited to have her lesson every week. Nicole is patient and knowledgeable. And the cost is more than reasonable. This is a great way for a child to learn an instrument during these challenging times. And you can be anywhere and still have a lesson; we have done them at grandma's house and during vacation! Highly recommend!

Nicole was a wonderful online instructor. My daughter (9 y.o.) learned so much - chords, how to read notes, rhythms and songs. Nicole also helped her prepare for a virtual talent show. Nicole went above and beyond what we expected and we have really enjoyed lessons with her.

Nicole is fantastic with our 5-year old. She has been our piano teacher since March and we could not be happier. She is articulate and has patience with our kid and I am sure she will be great with any kid any age. Get Nicole to help your child become an amazing piano player.

"Kathryn is an amazing teacher! I've been working with her for nearly a year now. At first I was hesitant doing classes online, but I don't regret taking the leap. I've definitely improved my acting skills in the months we've been working together; she gives great feedback and really cares about her students, not ONLY in the way of their acting skills. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to get into acting. I started out knowing nothing and I can say 100% that what I know now is largely in part of Kathryn!"

Michael was knowledgeable and provided just the kind of feedback I wanted for my solo vocal performances (I was looking for instruction on *acting* in solo vocal performance), giving me immediately useful tips for improving my next performance. It's clear that Michael has a lot to offer me. I look forward to more in the coming lessons."

"For all my life I have been extremely soft-spoken and have been constantly reminded to speak up in social situations. This has negatively impacted my self confidence and fed into a cycle that made me even quieter and more reserved. I tried to self-treat by browsing through countless YouTube videos and hundreds of Reddit pages but found that my practice at home did not translate into me being a louder speaker in public. Finally I decided I had nothing to lose and everything to gain from seeing a trained professional. That's when I met Fawn. She immediately dissected my problem into aspects I could tackle individually. She dispelled some previously crippling fears and notions that held me back but I could never manage to express with anyone. She gave me breathing and projection exercises and the immediate feedback that I definitely needed. She even diagnosed a specific lisp that I would never have thought possible to change. We eventually got rid of it and the confidence I have gained in my speech is overwhelming. I came in quiet and seeking answers. I left confident, with a sense of direction, and a new mentor and friend. Fawn is effective, charming, and hilarious. I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking answers and needs a coach for improvement, no matter the area."
