Any plucked string instrument with a neck (either fretted or unfretted) and a deep round back enclosing a hollow cavity, usually with a sound hole or opening in the body. The lute is plucked or strummed with one hand while the other hand "frets" (presses down) the strings on the neck's fingerboard. By pressing the strings on different places of the fingerboard, the player can produce higher or lower notes like on a guitar or other stringed instrument.
Lute has it's own musical notation and is fun to learn. I will teach you how to read, pluck and play beautiful songs that will inspire you and others.

I earned MM in Jazz Performance, Bass Guitar Major, in 1993, and play/teach lessons for Bass Guitar since that time. My prospective students will receive rigorous training in both Bass Guitar performance and musicianship focused on the specifics of the subject of study. The level that we would begin lessons with will depend on the student's abilities and potentials. We will strive to create professional and friendly working atmosphere, and will begin lessons with careful assessment of the student's performing abilities; we will also set our goals, based on both individual expectations of students and on professional experience of the instructor. My teaching philosophy lies on three aspects; on patience with people; on love for the subject of teaching/study; and on rigorous training, offered to people, for their benefit and general musical development.

Interested in learning guitar for the first time, or have been playing for a while and want to develop your skills? When I teach guitar, I try to focus as much as possible on the student's goals as a musician, so we can get you playing songs you enjoy in only a few lessons. I also encourage students to try learning by ear as much as possible to improve their skills and be able to apply it to their own music. If you're interested in taking lessons with me, be sure to reach out and don't be afraid to ask questions!
I'm James, and I'm willing to help you pursue your future musical endeavors! Over the course of my life I have about 13 years of musical experience, as I grew up in a very musical family. I am a husband, father, biocellular chemist, musician/recording artist, teacher, and performer in various genre. Piano was my first learned instrument (~30 years playing experience). Teaching music supplements all that is natural, perfect and me. I look forward to helping students learn technique and build confidence for when they may decide to perform or produce new music.
My standard teaching session aims directly at the common essentials of music and provides a combination of 1) chord and scale training, 2) an emphasis on contrasting rhythms and dynamics that give rise to genre and most common-day song structure, and 3) teaching students to play new songs (the student can request songs they would like to learn; I have demo materials and recommendations to assist). Using this trifecta approach, I have successfully taught learners with a broad variance of prior knowledge and aspiration to accomplish their goals. Together, my methods ensure that each student receives translatable
I am a passionate musician since I have been learning and performing in varying capacities since early childhood. I first learned to sing and be involved with music from church. Naturally, I struggled with seeing meaning or purpose of formal training from my earliest and limited opportunities. Ho
