I teach general piano lessons since 2010.With every new student our mutual journey into the world of music begins from the very basic stage; we begin with discussing student's proper sitting position at the instrument, basic introduction sessions on the general buildup of the instrument, its keyboard layout, and proceed, gradually, to the notation symbols on the music staff introduction to the student. Through the diligent preliminary talk we will discuss various aspects of interest that my students have developed in relation to playing piano, so we could plan and design our future lessons according to an initial discussion. My job and responsibility will be to make an intelligent assessment of my students' natural abilities for the given subject of study, to create vigorous learning atmosphere during our meetings, and to give my students professional instructions to the best of my humble abilities, for the benefits of their musical , aesthetic, and personal development. I will ...

About Karen

Karen obviously loves the piano & guitar. She’s probably an excellent teacher for those instruments. Why do I say that? That’s what she talked about! She spent half my lesson trying to convince me to learn one of those instruments. Could work on listening skills! Not even sure if she owns a set of bongos herself. Didn’t start teaching me anything until last 10 min & then I had to leave early anyway. So 50 min out of 60 and about 5 I actually learned a few things I could have been practicing for at least 30 min of class. Use her if you want to learn something else other than bongos.

Ms. Karen did a pretty good job, she had ideas for the lesson and provided ideas for the next lesson. She went out of her way to help me with this new idea---------"music" and "reading music." If there was any short fall in the lesson it was on my side and my preparation failings. I have no problem recommending Ms. Karen to others. Regards, JC

Extremely knowledgeable! Karen is a superb guitar instructor. Honestly, I was struggling. Discouraged! She helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses, and moved me from beginner to intermediate in a matter of months. If you’re getting tired of learning from YouTube and smart phone apps, let Karen kick start your guitar playing. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks Karen!!

I am a husband, father, biocellular chemist, musician/recording artist, teacher, and performer in various genre. Piano was my first learned instrument (~30 years playing experience). Teaching music supplements all that is natural, perfect and me. I look forward to helping students learn technique and build confidence for when they may decide to perform or produce new music.

My standard teaching session aims directly at the common essentials of music and provides a combination of 1) chord and scale training, 2) an emphasis on contrasting rhythms and dynamics that give rise to genre and most common-day song structure, and 3) teaching students to play new songs (the student can request songs they would like to learn; I have demo materials and recommendations to assist). Using this trifecta approach, I have successfully taught learners with a broad variance of prior knowledge and aspiration to accomplish their goals. Together, my methods ensure that each student receives translatable

About Jeremy

I am a passionate musician since I have been learning and performing in varying capacities since early childhood. I first learned to sing and be involved with music from church. Naturally, I struggled with seeing meaning or purpose of formal training from my earliest and limited opportunities. Ho

"Leanna is incredible. She's kind and patient and extremely easy to work with, which is rare for someone with such deep experience in a field. One thing that continued to stand out and amaze me is her unbelievable ear. Even in remote sessions via zoom, she could tell immediately if one note in a chord or progression was off, and helped me fix it. I've heard the same from other students of hers.

If you're a serious student, considering music as a career, or in any competitive sense, Leanna is an irreplaceable ally with the skill to push you further than you may have thought possible. Absolutely recommend."

"Allison taught my daughter for 4 years. We found her to be patient and nurturing, and she was able to keep my daughter motivated, which is not always easy, since my daughter quickly becomes frustrated when things don't come to her right away. Allison is great with kids and has a knack for keeping lessons fun, even while she's challenging students to be their best. The recitals were a real highlight for us. They gave our daughter a real goal to work for, and as we got to know the other families over the years, it was fun to watch their kids improving too."

What's the Hardest Piece to Play on Piano? And How to Advance Your Playing

The piano was invented over 300 years ago. Since then there have been some insanely difficult pieces written for the instrument, particularly from the 19th century onward. The most common choice for “most difficult piece” is probably the third etude from Grandes études de Paganini, S. 141,  “La campanella,” written by Franz Liszt in 1851. The dexterity and accuracy required to play it seems, to most observers, to be almost otherworldly. A YouTuber named Rousseau made a video that s …
