I have tutored students in a variety of math courses, going from basic Algebra up to Calculus 2. With a good foundation, any topic is manageable. Before any of my lessons, I ask the student to send me an outline of the topics they would like to go over and I prepare accordingly. I also help prepare students for the Calculus AB and BC exams as well as the math portions of the ACT and SAT exams.

Daniel tutored my teenage son in Algebra and Geometry for over one year. During that time, my son's grades increased and he became more confident with Math, in general. His time with Daniel set him up for success in Algebra 2 this year (11th grade). Daniel was always on time, very polite and courteous with my son! Highly recommend his tutoring service.

As an engineer, I use calculus on a daily basis to solve problems, and this includes multi-variable and vector calculus. Taking a calculus course and knowing the steps to solve a derivative or integral is one thing, but applying calculus concepts to problems in engineering and physics (i.e. biomechanics or fluid mechanics) is the true mark of understanding calculus - something I've learned how to do over many years of applying what I learned in my calculus courses. Sure, calculus can be a challenging subject at times, but with a focus on geometric representations, attaining a solid understanding of the concepts is well within reach, and that is the way I approach the subject with my students. For example, I don't just show you how to analytically solve an integral, I show you what an integral is, and what the solution means. When you understand calculus on this level, you'll be able to work through any of the curve ball questions your teacher might throw in on an exam.

I have experience in teaching Calculus from the beginning stages of pre-calc all the way up to multivariable and beyond. Calculus was my most tutored subject in college and as such the subject I have the most expertise in. Choosing me for Calculus gives you a tutor with years of experience and someone still young enough to help connect with the student.

Thank you for all of your help mark you are the 5th tutor I’ve had and the only one who didn’t get frustrated when I didn’t understand and actually cared. You’re a gem and thanks to you I can finally move on to higher ed. I’m graduating but I’m going to leave you the beat review I can and recommend. Please stay a tutor if you have the ability to in the future (I hope you do lol) and if you are I’ll message you if I have any more calc in grad school. Once again thank you for everything Marc. You’re the best.

Extremely helpful in getting a handle on what I am dealing with and the challenges I have, and dove straight into my issues and preparing me with both fundamentals and what I need to succeed for a test Wed. Followed up with another appointment time for Tuesday so I can be ready as possible for the test. Stayed late to explain some harder questions and understands this is a very important time for me. Thank you. 100 out of 100.

"Colin helped me through the last semester of IB Calculus. He would email me two days before each lesson so he was prepared with a relative lesson plan for our hour long weekly session of review. He even created a video explaining a topic I was stuck on and sent it to me after our weekly session. I wouldn’t have gotten an A in the last semester without him. Thanks Colin."

He gave me advice, showed me how to do problems the proper way and even gave me tips on some shortcuts. I would highly recommend him as a math tutor because he is easy to understand, easy to talk to and makes you feel more knowledgeable."

"I'm happy to say I found Colin for help with my calculus 1 class. I was doing okay from the beginning, but I felt like I was lacking the depth of understanding of some core algebra concepts and wanted to get solid on them before the class got more challenging (integration), as I was striving for an A in the class. Colin was a wizard at honing in on my weak points and he did an excellent job of really breaking things down and honestly, presenting concepts in more tangible ways than did any of my algebra teachers. I used the principles I learned from my sessions with Colin to get me through some challenging exam problems, and I'm proud to say that I ended up with a 97% in the class overall!"

How to Score a 5 on the AP Calculus Test

Getting ready to take the AP Calculus test? Brush up on these study tips from Olympia, WA tutor Tali H...   The AP Calculus exam is rumored to be one of the harder AP tests - especially for those of us who math doesn't come easily to. The test takes three hours and 15 minutes, and has 45 multiple-choice questions and six short-answer questions. Both types have a non-calculator part and a calculator part. Even though it sounds daunting, with some determination and productive studying, …
