I've been teaching 20 years. Classical Guitar technique is the foundation for most fingerpicking styles. Exploring the repertoire of Bach, the classic guitar composers - Sor, Guliani, Carcassi and learning how to arrange melodies for the guitar even if not written for guitar are some of the goals when I teach this style. My specialty is Brazilian Guitar and I have available vast repertoire of guitar music for the "Classical Guitar" plus I've explored the works of Piazolla and Leo Brouwer to name 2 guitarists. For Beginners we begin with 2 fingers, basic reading, getting a feel for your instrument, all made fun through the use of melodic material from various sources, sometimes pop tunes chosen by the student

The classical guitar is a rich and powerful instrument that has a long history. It has been developed like many instruments such as the piano, and today the guitar has a very powerful influence on modern music. However, the beautiful sounds from the past eras of music, Renaissance, Baroque, and Romanic composers have created wonderful and mysterious pieces that feature this incredible instrument. My goal is to help people who are interested in this type of music be able to perform and reproduce these amazing sounds.

Having studied guitar in Spain with masters of the craft, Francesca has a personal passion for classical and Spanish guitar. The first instrument Francesca seriously studied was the classical guitar, starting at age 4. It is her first language. Francesca regularly travels to South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean to teach masterclasses and immerse herself in local musical cultures.

David’s 35 years of teaching and performing experience, coupled with intensive years of formal studies with many of the world's greatest guitarists, have afforded him a rich and in-depth understanding of music and the guitar. He shares all of this with his students in an insightful and uniquely original manner. David is committed to helping students enjoy and excel in playing the music they love.

My own former guitar teacher once told me, "Guitar is one of the easiest instruments to play, but the most difficult to master." Now that I teach guitar including theory, I understand exactly what he meant.

We will start with finger-strengthening exercises while learning basic music fundamentals; then on to sight reading, string by string, note by note; we will learn to group notes together (chords) a bit later (after you have mastered the rest and free strokes.
