Hayden meets weekly with our 13 year old son for trombone lessons. He shows patience as he learns the material and works with him to keep trying until he gets it and gives him actionable items to work on between sessions. Hayden also does a nice job engaging our son by providing music to learn that is interesting to him and even has gone so far as to compose trombone music of songs that are interesting to our kid. He has been an excellent teacher and we plan to continue our weekly lessons with Hayden.

A little bit about me:
I graduated from University of Michigan's musical theatre program (one of the top musical theatre programs in the world!) and went straight into playing Ariel in THE LITTLE MERMAID at Chicago Shakespeare theatre, and then directly on to playing the lead in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on Broadway for several years! I also recently returned from China, where I played Scarlett O'Hara in the musical version of GONE WITH THE WIND!

Rachel is a talented actress and singer. She is also a great teacher!
I really enjoy our lessons and i am a bit shy when it comes to singing, but she really helps make you feel comfortable. She has many different tools in her kit to help bring your voice out and understand how to use your body. I appreciate her candid approach and that she doesn't butter me up, she gives great constructive feedback that you can work with. Not only the technical aspects, but the artistry of the craft as well.
I definitely feel like i've gained a deeper understanding of how to sing properly and am more confident as a result. Highly recommend her, you wont be disappointed.

I was very nervous before my first lesson, I was a complete beginner and was about to play in front of someone for the first time. All of my worries went away though during that first lesson and we got to know one another. I never felt any judgment but instead felt inspired to keep practicing and learning. Not once did he get impatient with me even though we were working on extremely beginner songs. He has helped me reach my goal I had started out with and helped me set new ones to start working towards.
