Is it hard to play the harp? That’s usually the first question people ask. My answer? Not at all! I teach the harp in three easy steps: Speak, Read, Write .
"Speaking" music simply means learning to listen and play your harp. We learn tunes by ear to start, just like you would if you were learning a language.
Reading and Writing are what allow you to pick up your favorite piece of music and learn it on your own, just like reading a book.
Whether you want to play in a concert hall or in your living room, I will give you the knowledge and technique to help you make the harp a part of your life.

As a music teacher of over 15 years I take a fun but structured approach to learning the harp. I've taught all ages and I individually work with each student to help them learn the music that they want to and reach the goals that they set for themselves. I also have a large emphasis on hand position and help my students have the very best technique so they can play their very best. We will typically start with exercises and technique and then move to music. I will then send written individual feedback after the lesson to help remind the student of what we are working on. I hope to have the chance to share my love of music with you!
About Jill
I am a harpist, pianist, arranger, composer, performer and lover of music. With over 15 years of experience teaching both piano and harp lessons. Although I graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with a Bachelors in visual communication, I have continued to stretch my skills as musician an

Online Harp Lessons
The harp is an instrument that makes a soft, angelic sound. The harp has a long history as it is considered one of the world’s first instruments. Some believe the harp’s sound is meant to mimic that of a hunter’s bow. Today, the modern version of a harp has 47 strings with seven pedals that the harpist uses to control each string’s pitch.
While some musicians have a knack for picking up instruments and mastering them, that’s not the case for most music students. If you’re interested in developing your harp playing skills, then it’s a good idea to turn to harp lessons online. Here at TakeLessons, we invite you to learn the harp online, regardless of whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student. With some time, patience, and practice, you will be well on your way
to plucking the harp like a pro.
The Benefits of a Harp Course Online
If you’ve never touched a harp before, you’re going to want to learn the basics to help you improve. However, if you’re already happily plucking away, then perhaps you need advanced instruction to take your skills to the next level.
