General Note: I majored in Spanish undergrad, and have explored a number of different way to continue learning in NYC - group classes and language programs have their value but can not complete with in-person, 1v1 instruction.

I have been helping others learn math for seven years and I enjoy watching it click for others just as much as I enjoyed it when math first began to make sense to me. From experience, I know that mathematics can be very easy, or seemingly impossible to learn depending on how the information and concepts are presented. Whether you need help with fractions, factoring polynomials, trigonometric identities, solving triple integrals or anything in between, I can break everything down to first principles, and help you attain that deep understanding of the concepts that will get you that A on your next test.

I am an MIT tutor specializing in math and science, and I have taught math anywhere between pre-algebra and calculus for 5 years. I have received perfect scores on both SAT Math, ACT Math, and SAT Math Level 2 (SAT Subject Test). I have taken AP Calculus BC while in high school, and I have taken Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations at MIT, and I actively participated in many math competitions through elementary, middle, and high schools.
Before the lessons, I like to talk with parents, students, and/or teachers to fully gauge what they have been struggling with and how to best help them. Then I identify the student's gap in knowledge while helping them complete their homework and give them additional drilling problems as needed to help them fully master the materials and do well on their tests. I always carry around books containing extra problems depending on the students' levels and goals.
Since geometry questions, especially proofs, are not very obvious, I often ...

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Last time I studied math was 20+ years. I am 40 years old and about to finish my second degree CRJ, and like many others I left math class at the end. Taking the math prep test (which I failed) placed me almost in kindergarten..Lol! and I knew I needed help to re-learn math. I am so happy Colin answered my request (I sent 15 requests, and only 2 teachers answered). I wanted to start eating the study guide provided by CSN and just focus on the topics, but Colin wanted to show me the "why we have numbers, type of numbers, etc" definitely I wanted to fly before I could walk, and I am so grateful he had a different plan............because IT MAKE SENSE!
I mentioned I prefered to have a lobotomy (siks!) instead of facing math in my 40's because I never had a chance to understand math, I just digested the fact I was going to fail and obtain an "s" for grade. I am looking forward to like, learn, and comprehend math with Colin's help so I can graduate in December 2018.
Thanks Colin :)"
