Baduanjin Qigong
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Taught as it was taught to me by my Chinese Master while visiting Hanfi Health and Fitness Center, Ningbo.
The Baduanjin qigong(八段錦) is one of the most common forms of Chinese qigong used as exercise. Variously translated as Eight Pieces of Brocade, Eight-Section Brocade, Eight Silken Movements or Eight Silk Weaving, the name of the form generally refers to how the eight individual movements of the form characterize and impart a silken quality (like that of a piece of brocade) to the body and its energy. The Baduanjin is primarily designated as a form of medical qigong, meant to improve health. This is in contrast to religious or martial forms of qigong. However, this categorization does not preclude the form's use by martial artists as a supplementary exercise, and this practice is frequent quite common.

No matter your age, gender or income level, everyone benefits from flexibility, strength and less stress. And there is no better way to improve all three than a regular Tai Chi practice.
Whether you’re 18 or 81, Ron will pace you, motivate you and keep you coming back for more.
Simple movements like Chinese squats and standing meditation will improve your range of motion, breath control and focus. They can be practiced anywhere and any time with cumulative effects that will last a lifetime.
If more than 70 5-star reviews isn’t enough to convince you, with a money-back guarantee what have you got to lose?

I look forward to training weekly with Hu, it has become part of a schedule that I look forward to. Learning Tai Chi has helped me to incorporate a healthier lifestyle into my daily routine (practicing) throughout the week. I feel like Tai Chi is an exercise that will be beneficial for the rest of my life- developing and enjoying for many years now that I have a solid foundation.
I have almost learned the entire Yang 24 form (about 9 months so far), and will probably complete all 24 forms in the next couple months.
Hu is very helpful and has a fun personality. He is punctual, considerate, and a great communicator. He is generous with his knowledge, and seems happy to focus on various aspects of Tai Chi as they are relevant to the study at hand, ranging from the traditional roots of Tai Chi, Tai chi for health and fitness, energy and movement, balance, proper technique, etc...
Hu is an extremely competent teacher, and he creates a safe place to learn. He is patient and thoughtful in his instruction. As far as I know, Hu is an expert in Kung Fu, Chen Style Tai Chi, and Yang Style Tai Chi.
I look forward to continued study with Hu following this course.
