Lessons with Al are always a high point of my week. Learning guitar as an adult is challenging, and he is unfailingly encouraging and motivational. His teaching method - a mix of music theory, exercises, improvisation, and practicing songs - keeps things fresh and challenging every week, and has helped me become better at productive practicing outside of each session. Al is also willing to jump down the rabbit hole with me when I bring him something I can’t figure out on my own. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is a wonderful teacher.
Al is incredibly passionate about passing his expertise to the next generation. My son studied drum set with him for 3 years, and is now a jazz studies major in college. The enthusiasm and knowledge he will impart on your student is invaluable. Highly recommended!
Very fun guy, with an extraordinary amount of knowledge, talent, and overall passion for music. I’m really looking forward to my future lessons.
