The lessons will be entertaining, insightful, and creative - there will be a steady path to getting better on the instrument from week to week.. I like to use an individualized approach that will get the most progress out of each student, taking into consideration all the variables that go into the learning process for that particular student's age, other commitments, prior training, motivation level and willingness to take instruction, and have the student go home with the guidelines and a realistic plan laid out to be referenced and referred to when practicing on their own and making their own personal decisions on how to use their practice time wisely and improve using the guided training that is being received from week to week..
About Andrew R.

I am a professional musician with over 30 years of experience. I enjoy teaching others and have a way with figuring out how to communicate with my students and their parents... I have an Honor's Diploma from my high school, have a bachelor's degree in music theory & composition, and scored in the top 1% of music teachers on a national teacher exam... My hobbies include barbershop singing, fife & drum corp, community bands, raising birds, chess and desktop music publishing. I have been known to be pretty funny (at times) and have been a member of MENSA, political organizations and ClariNetwork. I won several composition awards and have an organ voluntary published as a result of co-winning a contest that was sponsored by the AGO (American Guild of Organists) ...

Andrew has been a God send for getting my son through an online/virtual guitar course. My son is left handed and dyslexic, so a few challenges have been involved. Andrew met with him both in person and online. My son took to him immediately. Andrew was able to break down the notes and the music in a way my son could understand. It was amazing how fast he progressed. Andrew was flexible to work with and definitely student focused in his approach. I would highly recommend him. My only regret is that it took me so long to realize that a guitar teacher was what he needed.
