Experienced Violin Teacher with Suzuki Background!
Hi, my name is Brooke! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from NYU with my degree in Violin Performance and recently graduated from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music with my Masters in Violin Performance. I have been playing violin for 20 years, beginning with the Suzuki method at a young age. I have extensive experience performing solo repertoire, chamber music and orchestral pieces and have performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Rudolfinum in Prague. My teaching philosophy is aligned with the Suzuki method — I believe that every child can! I grew up with the Suzuki method and have received training as a registered member of the Suzuki Association. Every person can learn music and I would be honored to part of your musical journey. I have 5+ years of teaching experience and working with various ages. I am a firm believer in starting children at a young age with a strong emphasis on good set up, posture and technique. However, I teach classical music to various students from kids to adults and will always customize for each level and age. Whether you’re looking to keep up with repertoire at school, improve technique or begin a new hobby, I would love to help. I currently have my own private studio and I’m enthusiastic about building a bigger music community! Feel free to drop me a note if you think we could be a good fit!
