Learn singing from a voice technician with experience in multiple styles
I start my lessons with questions as to your learning style and goals, as well as getting to know your musical history so we can structure lessons in a collaborative way. I want students to be in charge of how they use their time with my guidance and instruction. I prioritize knowledge of anatomy and how it relates to different styles of singing and I guide students in learning how to pick their own repertoire and prepare for self-evaluation and practice.
About Catherine L.

Hello! I'm Catherine, a remote voice teacher currently based out of North Carolina. I specialize in classical singing with experience in musical theatre, and I love to tailor my teaching to my students' stylistic goals. I have prepared students for recreational singing, productions, and college auditions with great success over online platforms. I welcome open communication and constructive feedback from my students, and ensuring that you are satisfied, fulfilled, and that you have a diverse repertoire that highlights your best musical qualities are my priorities! Currently, I am a graduate student in voice performance and musicology. I have a Bachelor's degree in vocal performance with extensive training in musical theatre piano. I have sung in several operas in English and Russian, and have a far-reaching repertory of solo art music. As an instrumentalist and singer, I have found work in many genres of secular and religious singing, and have taught students of many backgrounds with success due to my varied experiences. I have attended the Russian Opera Workshop after graduating magna cum laude from my undergraduate voice program, and have earned roles in Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica at UNC Greensboro, unfortunately canceled due to the ongoing pandemic. I welcome any questions and special requests for lessons, and am very understanding and accommodating of special learning needs. Teaching you or your child would be a pleasure, and I greatly look forward to our first conversation and lesson!
