I have a B.S. degree in Special Education from Auburn University- War Eagle- and a Masters in Mild Learning Handicaps from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. I taught elementary K-6 (Math, Reading, Science and Social Studies) for about nine years before getting an Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Jefferson State College in Birmingham, Alabama. After taking 20 years off to raise a family, I jumped back into teaching at the high school level after getting certified in Family and Consumer Sciences. This allowed me to teach my high school students in an Early Childhood Education Certification program. Currently, I'm a Media Specialist Assistant at my son's elementary school and my passions for reading and writing are on fire. I love sharing all the tools and strategies I have learned along the way! Would you like to know how I demonstrated a cool trick for my high school class of 35 students? I showed them how I could memorize 35 random facts (one for each student) in about 5 minutes. My approach is science-based and it can work for you too!!! If you are looking for an uplifting, motivational tutor who loves to think outside of the box for creative ways to teach- we might be a good fit. Best of luck with whoever you choose. You've got this!!!

I taught with Cecilia in the past. Cecilia’s manner of teaching is excellent! She’s very knowledgeable, patient and supportive, but really knows how to motivate her students to learn. She’s great at building skills, confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging through a variety of activities and techniques.
Mrs S. was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my entire life. She goes above and beyond for her students and their education. She makes learning fun, interactive, and educational. She is very a happy, caring women who has a passion for education.
