Ready to Knit? Learn at Your Own Pace and Enjoy the Art of Knitting.
Did you know the oldest piece of knitwear are socks from Egypt? Have you heard of the Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater? Are knitters really the best kind of people? Whether you're an absolute beginner or a seasoned knitter, I'm here to help you make your creations and have some fun hand knitting. We can follow a planned curriculum, dive right into a project, or work on stitch patterns and techniques. Whatever your interests are, I'll be happy to help and can work at any pace. I have a library of vintage patterns you can browse through, or you can bring your own pattern. If you have an idea in mind, I can help you create it. Sketch a design or take a screen capture of something knitted you like and say, "I will make you."
About Christine C.

Hello! I am the daughter of a seamstress and a chef, and knitting is a skill I have enjoyed since my childhood. I have years of experience knitting sweaters, hats, socks, and toys from patterns and creating my own designs. Some of my favorite knitting projects have been a life-size digestive tract and a Nordic sweater I saw on a character in a movie and decided I had to have. I knit when I read or watch a film, on a plane or in a tent. It's an activity that is completely rewarding, and I hope you find it so, too! Currently, I work as a hand knitter for a clothing boutique and have also knitted and sewn custom items for designers as a freelance artist. My expertise is in knitting, sewing, embroidery, and crochet, and I've dabbled in rigid heddle loom weaving, needlepoint, and English Paper Piecing. I'm more than happy to combine any of these types of needlework into my lessons. I have been an English teacher for 25 years and have taught every grade from preschool to university. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and look forward to meeting you!
