My name is Claire and I have been making a living as a touring/gigging musician for the last eight years. I studied music performance and production at Columbia College Chicago. I have played in a variety of styles, both solo and as part of a band. I currently tour with my band, The Lucky Dutch on keys and vocals. My students start their journey learning music of their choice, sparking interest and enthusiasm from the very first lesson. My motto is "Relentless Positivity" and it shows in my lessons. There is never a consequence for a wrong answer or misplaced note and the worst thing that can happen is we play it again. We will work together to navigate this inspiring and often humbling path. Lessons missed due to late or non-payment will not be eligible for rescheduling. *Should something come up where you cannot financially fulfill your commitment to your lessons, advanced notice and communication is appreciated and encouraged!* Cancelations: I will try to be flexible with sickness and emergencies, so let me know as soon as possible on days you need to cancel. Lesson times are standing appointments; a student’s lesson time is reserved for only them each week, and it is their responsibility to attend. 24 hours notice is required for a lesson to be eligible for rescheduling. The more notice given, the more flexibility we have to reschedule; look ahead for sporting events and school plays so we can plan accordingly. “No Show” lessons will be forfeit and will not be eligible for rescheduling. Repeat “no shows” will result in removal from the schedule without reimbursement. (3 Strike Rule!) Please notify me ASAP if you cannot attend. Lessons canceled within ONE hour of scheduled time will be considered “No Show” and will be charged accordingly. Student Expectations: If there is a lack of progress, there is probably a lack of practice! A student’s progress is determined by dedicated practice, not by simply attending lessons. Ideally, students should practice at least 4-5 days a week. Specific amounts of practice time are not assigned to each student. Instead, students should practice long enough to complete their weekly assignments. The quality of practice time is more important than the quantity of practice time. Discontinuing Lessons: Music is a lifelong pursuit, but lessons are not always possible for a multitude of reasons. Whatever the reason, I will never take discontinuation of lessons personally. Remember: if you are unsatisfied with your lessons for any reason or if you are contemplating quitting lessons, please speak freely to me about your concerns. Discontinuation of lessons requires a 3 week notice – This gives us time to wrap up any current projects and discuss how the student can continue to follow their music goals. Please Note that the studio is NOT closed on every national holiday. Sometimes Monday students WILL have lessons on a day when there is no school. The studio is ALWAYS closed on: 4th of July Thanksgiving/Black Friday Dec. 22nd – Jan 5th 2022 ~Claire

Patient and fun. Claire has engaged our daughter in learning the guitar by going at her pace and teaching her music she loves.
She is great with our 6 year's old daughter, very patient.
Great first class. Super encouraging.
