Hi! My name is Crystal. As a teacher, I go by Miss Crystal :) I have been teaching private flute lessons for two years. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in music performance from Eastern Illinois University. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters of Music degree from Northern Illinois University. I live in Chicago, IL with my two plants Dumbo and George. Besides the flute, I love coffee and tacos! During lessons with me you can expect a tailored curriculum that fits you or your students' individual needs. Weather you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced flutist, I have helpful thoughts to help you improve your playing. Beginner students enjoy a very structured lesson plan focusing on music fundamentals such as learning to read music, understanding rhythm, etc. They also will learn the basics of flute playing by learning how to hold the instrument, put it together, and how to make a sound right away. Intermediate and advanced students will enjoy learning about standard flute repertoire, that is standard songs/pieces that all flutist should know, more in depth music history, and music theory discussion.
