Become the best musician you can be with a conservatory-trained teacher!
Experienced teacher of 5 years for all levels and ages! Lessons with me will not only focus on playing music, but will also focus on air and sound production as well as ear training and theory. We work together to make sure they are as well-rounded as possible. If you have an audition coming up, or if you want to get first chair in your school band program, or if you have decided to pick up an instrument later, I will help with whatever you want to accomplish!
About Evan S.

I am a professional tubist. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Tuba Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and have studied with well-known tubists and pedagogues such as Timothy Northcut, Chris Olka, and Derek Fenstermacher. In my 12 years of tuba playing, I have played with professional orchestras, and advanced in auditions for military bands. I have played under the batons of conductors like Tito Munoz of the Phoenix Symphony, Jeffrey Grogan of Oklahoma City University, and Mark Scatterday of the Eastman School of Music. I have taught tuba, euphonium, trombone, trumpet, and French horn to people of all ages from middle schoolers to those who wanted to pick up an instrument later in life. I also tutor in music theory and ear training. I have a very relaxed but enthusiastic approach to teaching that inspires the student to have a similar level of enthusiasm for whatever we are working on at the moment.
