As an adult learner, I needed a patient, mature and diligent instructor. Fransisco is a warm and supportive instructor, who champions his students progress and surpasses all expectations as a teacher. I highly recommend Francisco to help you master your stringed instrument.
Francisco helped me immensely with my preparation for college auditions. Moreover he was a huge help during school breaks when I had chair audition excerpts to work on. I was extremely inexperienced and francisco did everything in his power to get me up to where I needed to be. I appreciated his gentle teaching style and his unique metaphors in his lessons. His optimistic attitude also made lessons something to look forward to! I highly recommend him as a teacher for private lessons to anyone looking to learn the cello.
Francisco is an incredible teacher and is always a positive person to be around. I've taken lessons with a few cello teachers, and I'm always glad to get back to Francisco. Some highlights: - He takes me seriously as an adult beginner, and has helped me progress from almost nothing to substantial repertoire. - He's a great diagnostician. He can watch and listen and quickly get to the root cause. It's the best when he solves a problem I didn't know I had! - He's extremely helpful with equipment, as a consequence of previously being with one of the largest violin shops in Chicago. He's helped me with purchases of (in chronological order) my first cheap carbon bow, a college-level cello, and a pernambuco bow. I feel great about my equipment and the buying process, but I would have been flying blind without him. - I really appreciate that he's flexible with scheduling and the frequency of our lessons. If you're an adult amateur (or aspiring amateur) like me, you can stop searching for your teacher. I'm confident he would do great work with other types of students, too!
