My priority is to help you grow. And everyone learns differently. That's why all of my tutoring is 100% individualized. I teach according to your goals, your learning style, and your challenges. My students get results because their learning is tailored to their needs. I'm a professional teacher with over 10 years of experience helping students succeed at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I also regularly work with early and mid-career professionals. I teach Spanish, English, History, Math, ACT, and ISEE/SSAT. I hold a masters degree from Harvard University, a Bachelors degree in Spanish language and Political Science, and a teaching certificate from the Fulbright Scholarship program. I currently tutor students attending Horace Mann, Riverdale, Trinity, Collegiate, Chapin, Lycée Français, Dwight, Hong Kong International School, Cornell College, and the University of Cambridge. I help students of every age to ace their next exam, paper, or standardized test and build the skills to help them succeed in class and in life. Just as important, I build lasting relationships with my students based on mutual trust and respect. My students come away from tutoring sessions energized, with a sense of confidence and motivation. I believe that meetings with a tutor should be enjoyable, and they should inspire students to work smart and work hard. After studying at the University of Havana, in Cuba, I wrote peer-reviewed research, which was published in the journal "Cuba in Transition." A year later, I was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach and conduct research in Montevideo, Uruguay. There, I worked with the U.S. Embassy to create a series of new language courses in public schools. If you're looking for top-tier, enjoyable, results-driven tutoring, send me a message!

Jesse is exactly what you would want in a tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable and has excellent intuition on how to present information in an understandable way. His lesson plans are extremely flexible to how you are learning the information. Highly recommended if you are looking for a Spanish language tutor.
I would recommend Jesse for any tutoring need without reservation. In our household, Jesse has helped amplify the Spanish learning for a middle/hs student, helped an older student with the application process for graduate work and worked with someone on writing. He’s phenomenal at all of it for the following reasons: his patience, intelligence and good nature are exceptional; he can work with all temperaments; he will meet your student where they are. Most important: he is systematic and provides real executive functioning support for each task. He is an unusually talented tutor and human being.
Highly recommend Jesse as a Spanish tutor! Have been working with Jesse for almost 9 months (2 hrs + / weekly) and my Spanish fluency has rapidly increased over this period. Jesse's lesson plans are highly curated for my specific goals, learning style and interests. It's been a pleasure working with Jesse and appreciate his willingness to accommodate with my busy work / travel schedule. General Note: I majored in Spanish undergrad, and have explored a number of different way to continue learning in NYC - group classes and language programs have their value but can not complete with in-person, 1v1 instruction.
