I am a professional tubist, singer, guitarist, bassist, and recording musician. I graduated from the East Carolina University School of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance. My students can expect to progress technically on their instrument on a week to week basis. We will work on musical phrasing and artistic interpretation through an active interest in the craft of tuba. In applying foundational and fundamental techniques in my lessons, I will guide students in developing their unique sound on their instrument and how to play with confidence and expression. Based on a students skill level, more emphasis may be placed on fundamentals and scales rather than repertoire, but I allow my students to work on any piece of literature regardless of genre or style. Music for lessons, unless already provided by the student, will be provided by myself. In my career as a gigging musician, I have performed on world premieres for 2 pieces for the International Tuba Euphonium Conference, performed in multiple masterclasses taught by world renowned recording artists, placed as a finalist for the Disney All-American Marching Band and Hershey Park Band (in the months prior to the pandemic), and have consistently placed as principal tubist in the East Carolina University premiere band. Outside of tuba, I have had a wide career in music as a praise and worship leader, marching band staff member, and even as a vocalist in a barbershop quartet. My passion is in tuba, but my experience and skills in music spans further than that. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become the musician that you want to be!

As my first tubist mentor he was very patient and knowing. He has given me more insight about my tuba in areas where I lack giving me more confidence in my playing. I will for sure be working with him in the near future.
Jondavid is a very knowledgable and patient teacher. He helped me in learning my audition packet for an upcoming military audition and I plan to continue my lessons with him. If you are considering purchasing lessons to hone your playing, I strongly recommend contacting Jondavid.
