I believe that the most important aspect of learning is a positive and comfortable environment that encourages and facilitates growth! My studio ranges from ages 9 to adult and from beginner to advanced. Through my own studies I have experienced many different teaching styles and philosophies, and have developed my own method to help my students progress quickly and efficiently. Every lesson will begin with a discussion about the students practicing so that we can celebrate growth and work together through challenges. Students will be asked to study technical and tone exercises as well as repertoire that will help them progress in the necessary areas. I will help my students choose pieces that are appropriate and enjoyable. If a student would like to study a popular song then I will gladly write my own arrangement for them. We can also learn to play by ear and improvise. For my online students I will record solos, duets, and piano parts to pieces that we cannot play together in person. If the student is studying flute in school, they can choose to continue studying the same material and use their lesson as additional help, or we can work on other repertoire to create further challenges outside the classroom. If you would like to study with me on a day or at a time that is not listed in my availability, please contact me so that we can find a time that works best! I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your musical goals!

Leanna is a great teacher and I had a lot of fun with her! She works a lot on technique and getting everything as good as you can get it. She is amazing and I highly recommend her!

I highly recommend Leanna. My nine-year-old daughter has been taking her online flute lessons since the last summer and she looks forward to the class every week. I appreciate that Leanna prepares music pieces or provides us with her own flute/piano recordings so my daughter can practice with them. Communication with Leanna have also been very efficient and pleasant. She is professional, patient, and caring; simply the best!
