Beginner-You will learn basic skills of hand and machine stitching, seams, darts, pleats, zippers, pouch, tote bag and build many more samples into a scrapbook. Intermediate- Fabric dimension and behavior, cutting skills, bias binding, various necklines and making a skirt or blouse. Learn to make garment with commercial pattern. Advanced-Make dress, skirt, pants or blouse with lining. Or make home-decor items, e.g Cushion covers, throw pillows etc. Note: Although students learn at different rates, the above results are expected, if taking lessons 2hours a week, for 5weeks for all levels.
About Lily Q.

I am a Fashion Designer/Instructor and former Social Worker, who's very passionate about teaching Fashion and Embroidery. I'm always excited about helping students build skills gradually, from a complete Beginner, through Advanced levels. Also, I am one of the few teachers in the country who teaches the exclusive "Freehand" Drafting and sewing (i.e. sewing without commercial pattern). I also teach sewing with pattern. As a social worker, I taught participants in a homeless shelter, how to make various items geared towards independent living. For 11years now, I've been teaching in the tri-state area where patrons sign up for group sewing lessons as well as private lessons. I teach Garment cutting and construction, Pattern drafting, Alterations, Home décor items, and various sewing projects. With patience, I guide students to create a Scrapbook. This is a Binder full of samples, that capture important sewing skills for future reference. I am happy to help you navigate your sewing aspirations and goals when you register. Thanks.

Lily is SO talented and a wonderful teacher. She patiently walked me through all settings to troubleshoot problems with my machine. She also helped me set a goal and will support me to get there. Highly recommend her!!!
