Students who study with me learn a technique based on clear, focused vowels, with a ringing tone. I am able to teach art song in Latin, German, French, Italian, and English, as well as operatic and musical theater styles. I am interested especially that young singers begin on a good foundation with repertoire suitable for their voices. I help my students achieve goals such as placement in choirs and participation in vocal public performance.
About Mark M.

I am an active performer eager to teach organ, piano, voice, and provide collaborative keyboard accompaniment to vocalists. I teach youth and adults. Private lessons are given at my church in Worcester or online through the TakeLessons platform. I also teach in-home piano lessons. My students have gone on to undergraduate and graduate performance schools and hold full-time positions in churches, schools, and other performing organizations around the country. I believe music is not only an aesthetic pursuit, but also a primary way to develop one's sense of self-esteem, community, trust, openness, and character. Building skill as a musician exercises the brain, builds logic, and fosters discipline. I am the Dean of the Worcester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Worcester get a discount of 50% off all lesson rates posted here on TakeLessons. Message me to receive instructions on how to take advantage of these great rates.

I have been taking organ lessons with Mark Mummert since May, 2020. He is an excellent teacher. I am an accompanist at a small church. I started as a pianist but there is a greater need in our community for organists. Mark has been so valuable in improving my organ playing. He has emphasized organ fundamentals as well as technique. I am impressed as to how much we have accomplished with virtual lessons.

It is obvious that Mark M. is a well seasoned teacher who doesn't waste time so that a great deal of material can be explained and demonstrated. I am happy to have found someone who can guide me for many years and understands the demands on a church organist.

Lily enjoys her lessons and I can already see an improvement in both skill and confidence after only 3 lessons. Thank you!
