Algebra Professional Tutor with 10 Years Teaching Experience and 10 Years as a Chemical Engineer
Hi! My name is Mark M. and I am a professional full-time math tutor, working with students and clients of all age levels and abilities. Algebra was my first true love in math, and is one of my favorite subjects to teach due to its fundamental importance and real-life application in the wonderful world of mathematics. I have a degree in chemical engineering, and I have taught middle and high school for over 10 years. I have won the lifetime impact award twice at my previous school, and pride myself on engaging my students through humor, technology, and making learning fun! I play guitar and piano during certain lessons to engage my students while learning mathematical formulas and other concepts. One thing that sets me apart from other tutors is my humor. I absolutely love to have fun while teaching! If you do not laugh while working with me, something is wrong ha! I am positive, fun, caring, and encouraging. I can also record our online sessions so you are able to review the material we cover if needed. I would love the opportunity to work with you, and I look forward to hearing from you. Make it a great day!
About Mark M.

Hi, my name is Mark M. and I am a full-time professional math and chess tutor. I am so excited about the possibility of working with you to help you achieve your goals! My mission statement is simple: I want to make a difference in the lives of students. I am a certified teacher with an additional gifted certification, and I am qualified to teach middle and high school. I have been teaching for 10 years and have helped thousands of students in 6th – 11th grade math. I have 2 years of teaching experience in middle school and 8 years of teaching experience in high school in conjunction with tutoring students individually on the side. I always prided myself on engaging students through games, playing musical instruments during the lessons, technology, humor, and making learning fun! Students wanted to come to my classroom, and I was blessed to have been given the opportunity to teach and help so many awesome kids. On the chess side, I was the chess club sponsor at my previous high school for 10 years, and have taught hundreds of students this wonderful and beautiful game. I organized the first ever inter-high school chess league in Augusta, Ga. I have played close to half a million games in my life through various websites and currently have an online rating of ~ 2250. I have an incredible amount of experience to share with my students. I am skilled in the opening, middle, and end game techniques, tactics, as well as having strong positional skills. I have knowledge of all various types of openings such as the Ruy Lopez, Queen's Gambit, the London System, the King's Indian defense, the Sicilian defensive, etc. I absolutely love working with kids as well as adults and am enthusiastic about passing my knowledge on to students who are interested in improving their chess game. I can't wait to work with you, so let's get started!
