I am a professional classical guitarist & jazz vocalist with 25 years of experience teaching in various genres, ranging from teaching young students (4 years old and up) music / guitar at schools in a group setting, to coaching guitar majors at university level in private setting. I have BA and a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar with honors from the New School of Music.I also have a Masters Degree in Musicology / Fine Arts from Aristotle University. Through my teaching method my students learn how to read music, count the rhythm, use metronome, study basic theory! We start with very easy melodies in order to learn the notes on the guitar and we move into serious tunes and chords. As far about the music repertoire I work with the student so the tunes that they are playing will be an inspiration for practice. My goal is to make my students love the music and the instrument, be inspired, develop their talent and through music cultivate their soul and become better people in our society. In addition to being a teacher I am also pursuing a career as a professional musician and I have to my credit a solo Jazz album titled “I Wanna Be Your Star” that rated Number 2 on the CMJ (College Music Journal) as the Top Jazz Adds Chart in USA and Canada in 2014 and a cd single . In November 2021, is scheduled to be released my solo guitar album with my own compositions. I believe that my spectrum of learning & teaching in different countries and cultures, as well as exposure to the synergies between the professional music world & educational instruction has allowed me to make musical learning an expansive and yet inclusive experience for students of all ages.
