Hi, and first all, thank you for taking the time to read my profile! My name Neil, and I have been playing guitar player for going on 24 years now, and have loved every minute of it! I have also been writing, producing and performing my own songs for almost 13 years, and I have over 18 years of teaching experience as well. If you choose me as your teacher, I promise that I will develop a curriculum just for you, that suits your interests, learning style, and personality type, and I am absolutely flexible enough to include anything else that is important to you into our lessons. I will teach you the necessary music theory that you need as a foundation that you will be able to build upon, but most importantly we will have a ton of fun doing so! I have found in my experiences teaching people over the years, that it can be unfortunately all too common for people to get inundated and overwhelmed with too much theoretical information. It is important to remember why you wanted to pick up and learn to play the guitar to begin with, because you love it! I try to continue to always keep that joy of playing at the center of everything that we do, while still trying to effectively teach people the knowledge and technique necessary to get them to get to the level that they want to be on! I have found that one of the practical ways to do this is to ask students what a few of their favorite songs are that they would like to learn and incorporate those into the lesson. I love watching the light come on when something finally clicks for someone, when they are finally able to play something that they've always wanted to. Having been there myself, I know that that feeling of joy is so powerful that it will drive them to want to learn even more, and there is no going back after that point! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me, and I sincerely hope to hear from you soon!

Not only is Neil clearly experienced and knowledgable about all things guitar, he was patient, provided multiple instructions when my dense self (or wiggly fingers) just wasn't getting it, he is also fun to be around as he's got a sense of humor (and isn't uptight like some other instructors I've had in the past)! I would recommend him for anyone looking to learn - beginners to advanced. If you book a guitar lesson with Neil, you won't be sorry!
