Hi everyone! I'm Nicola, and I teach both French and acting. I've been teaching French since 2011 and acting since 2013. I have my bachelor's degree in French from Columbia University and my master's degree in the history of theatre from the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University in France. I teach a few different kinds of classes: French classes and acting classes, of course, to students of ALL ages and levels. (I don't usually teach under age 4, but never say never, I suppose. I also teach adults!) I believe having fun and playing is key to learning. The more relaxed and open you are, the better you're going to do, whether it's in language acquisition or learning to be a character in a play. I also teach arts-and-crafts classes geared toward younger kids, which is something I've been doing with the New York and Boston Public Libraries for the last decade. I recently invented the Draw-A-Story class for young kids, which combines drawing and storytelling, two activities that are both important and fun! Last but not least, a fun fact about me: I'm a professional film director. I have a feeling I may roll out a screenwriting class sometime in the near future!

I have been working with Nicola for the past 4 months and I would highly recommend her for anyone that is completely new to the French language. She is very flexible and willing to design the lesson to meet your goals. Nicola has a way of making learning a new language interesting, fun and non-intimidating. I have done both in-person and online lessons with Nicola and I find that both are equally as effective. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for a French tutor.
Nicola has been tutoring my daughter in 7th grade French. She’s wonderful, speaks like a native, and is very reliable. My daughter’s French grade has improved dramatically! We are very happy with her, and highly recommend her to all.
We've only had one lesson but Nicola is smart and great at explaining as she goes. I'm an adult and love her teaching style, and I could also see her being great with kids!
