Nicole is a wonderful voice teacher! Each lesson starts with breathing, posture, centering and words of encouragement. My favorite line is “remember to lead with your heart.” Her lessons are organized, through, but not overwhelming. She also teaches how to practice and use practice time effectively. But the most wonderful thing about Nicole is how she helps me to have confidence in my voice and creates an environment where I feel free to share my voice, cracks and all. ~Janet
“If you’re wondering if this person is an excellent music coach, she is. If you are wondering if she can help you improve your singing skills, she can. If you are wondering if she is gentle, intuitive, patient, funny, engaging and honest, she is. If you are wondering if she loves her work, I believe she does. I cannot say enough glowing and positive things about Nicole. I feel very lucky to have met her in my lifetime and lucky to have had her as a teacher and friend. I met Nicole through my church. I remember watching her work with the children’s choir after a service one Sunday. She was amazing to watch. She was teaching them a song from the movie Moana. The song was in a different language and very difficult to learn in my opinion. It was “Foa’i-We Know The Way”. This is when I first saw Nicole’s gift. She was engaging, funny, clear, and happy, and I could just feel the love that the children had for her and that she had for them. She brought her whole wonderful self to that moment in time with them and she was amazing. They eventually performed that song for the church during a service and it was beautiful. I have, since that time, joined the church choir where Nicole is now the music director and I have taken private voice lessons from her. She is the biggest reason that I have begun experiencing music again in a deep and meaningful way. I hadn’t sung for anyone in more than 30 years. That moment of seeing Nicole in her element, with the kids and with the music, gave me the courage to try something that I used to love to do, sing. I am grateful to her for all her talent and patience, and compassion, and caring and sensitivity as well as her kind honesty and her magical way of bringing her unique self to what she loves. She gives so much in her lessons and directing and it is clear that she loves doing what she does. She is gifted with an ability to gently bring out the hidden tender insides of people with humor and fun and love and music. So, if you are wondering if she is worth the price of a lesson, I’d have to say, no. She is worth much more than that, but a lesson is a good place to start.” Kaizen Joseph Hummer (he/they)
“My daughter has been taking voice lessons from Nicole for years now. Our experience has been only positive one in so many ways. From a professional standpoint, Nicole is friendly and energetic towards her students, responsive and organized with parents in addition to being flexible with schedules and the needs to each family. Nicole’s experience and expertise in vocal training is also apparent through the notable progress we have seen over the course of our daughter’s lessons. It is important to note that not only has our daughter’s signing quality improved, but her confidence as a whole has also been elevated. Thank you Nicole for all of you bring to your lessons! There is so much more happening than just signing J - Thank you Allison W. (Parent)”
