Strengthen Your Acting Craft: Find A Deeper Connection With Your Inner Artist
If you are a student preparing for your school, summer program, or college auditions, a newer actor who is trying to understand and find comfort in your audition process/self-tapes, or overall navigating your career as a new actor, then this is the space for you! I provide coaching on audition prep, self-tapes, strengthening acting techniques through monologues or scene study, and coaching on industry information to progress your career as a beginning actor such as manager/agent info, headshot preparation, self-branding, and character types. My approach is to A) Help you find a deeper connection to your artistry/artistic spirit, B) Give you techniques to be in the moment at a much higher rate than you began with, C) Grounding techniques to bring yourself to a solid and trusting place with yourself as an actor as you navigate your career/audition. I stray away from strong textual analysis and instead take an approach involving vivid character visualization, physical technique, and freedom. Furthermore, I strongly believe in nurturing fellow artists bringing out your unique qualities as an individual, and allowing room to naturally progress and grow through self-exploration as an artist, as opposed to pushing one to an extreme point to be a "perfect actor" because perfect does not exist!
About Olivia Y.

I have a deep love and connection for what I do, and I also love connecting with people, which is why I teach! I have been training and living the active lifestyle of an artist since I was fourteen years old, and I began my first teaching job at sixteen for a theatre summer program. I then spent even more time training in acting first on a mountain in the woods (yes you can ask me about that) and then in New York City. I now act professionally in the LA market and continue my own training (as you can never stop learning) with an LA-based Acting studio. I take a very nurturing approach to my students that allows room for self-discovery, growth, and creativity. I truly love to watch the artists I work with progress and make self-discoveries as they work. My approach to this is to A) Reconnect you to your artistry/artistic spirit, B) Give you techniques to be in the moment at a much higher rate than you began with, and C) Grounding techniques to bring yourself to a solid and trusting place as you navigate your artistic journey.

Teacher's Studio

Olivia has more knowledge about how to approach an audition than anyone I have worked with. She guided me in how to prepare, self tape and submit my audition. The result was a higher level of production quality of my self tapes and more focus and confidence in my live auditions. I highly recommend Olivia's coaching services.

I really like working with Olivia! As a current professional in the industry, Olivia can give up-to-date advice on what the industry is looking for and doesn't hesitate to share that knowledge with her students. Her classes are very specific, attentive, and you can see she genuinely cares about her students and their success. Olivia helps with whatever material you need for the day, and helps guide you to a performance that feels authentic, connected to you and proud of. Many of the things I've learned in her lessons, I've applied to other auditions and shows as well. 5/5 stars, would work with her again.
