Patrick is a multi-instrumentalist whose teaching method empowers students to discover their own artistry through the vocabulary of theory, style, and musicianship. Shortly before beginning school at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2002, Patrick began teaching private guitar lessons in his hometown of Wheaton, IL. Berklee enabled Patrick to develop as both a performer and educator; he continued to teach throughout college and eventually accepted a position as a guitar, bass, and ukulele instructor at Musical Expressions, a private studio in Naperville, IL. While at Musical Expressions, Patrick taught hundreds of students of all ages and levels--many of whom went on to become professional musicians and music educators. He also expanded the studio’s ensemble program, an initiative that taught students of all ages how to play and perform in bands. The ensembles afforded Patrick the opportunity to combine his chief passions in life: teaching and performing. Outside of lessons, Patrick can be found playing on the stages and in the venues of Chicagoland. He has performed and recorded with groups such as Chainsaw Dupont and the Blues Warriors, Harlan Flo, and The Lauren Wolf Band. His most notable performances include multiple appearances (including a headlining spot) at Chicago’s House of Blues, City Winery, Red Gorilla Music Festival, and annual spots at the Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival. Patrick has also done countless solo performances at private events.

I was impressed with the one on one lessons. I got those lessons from Patrick after I took a group class with him. I learned a lot in that short lesson. A one on one was even better. He used Zoom to make the chord charts and everything available to me. I learned new major and minor chords in the first lesson. He understood my goals and was able to adapt to them and plan future lessons in an efficient way. I recommend lessons from him.
