Please feel free to discuss my method of teaching, and to express your aspirations and goals as a musician. I teach with a friendly demeanor, which allows my students to feel comfortable and relaxed, and makes learning easy and fun, as it should be. You will quickly learn to read music, and will be playing pieces and songs in a fairly short period of time. I teach basic technique using your fingers, which allows you to play both melody and harmony by yourself, making the guitar for you a true solo instrument. All of my students play extremely well, and so will you. Ramon Amira studied classical guitar with Juan de la Mata, and flamenco guitar with Mario Escudero. He continued his guitar studies in Los Angeles with Vicente Gomez. While living in Los Angeles he was the classical and flamenco guitar critic for the Los Angeles Times and has given numerous concerts all across the country. He currently performs in the New York area and is a prominent teacher of guitar. He teaches all styles of guitar - popular, classical, and flamenco.
