Santiago Vidal is a Pianist, singer-songwriter from Uruguay. He graduated from CAEMSA (Centro de altos estudios musicales), Argentina in 2010 as a Contemporary Pianist and from Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA as a Film Composer in 2014. Vidal is a multi-awarded songwriter. He won a first prize at the Herne Hill Music Festival in London, England in 2013 for the piano trio "Crónica de una decepción". He also won the first prize in the largest composition contest in Uruguay, organized by the Ministry of Culture (Premios Nacionales de Música) with the song "Nostalgias" (Latin music) in 2013. He also won the 3rd prize in the same contest in 2015 and 2018. He was a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition (receiving an Honorable Mention) for the song "Tu Querer" in 2015. Santiago got a full scholarship at Berklee after receiving some of these recognitions. Santiago Vidal has been playing piano with many different artists (such as Alejandro Sanz and for Jimmy Page and Valerie Simpson at the Berklee Commencement concert), for the last 20 years in Europe, South America and North America. Santiago has been teaching music for the last 19 years at School of Rock (Woodland Hills, California), The Academy of Music for the Blind (Los Angeles), California College of Music (Pasadena) and private students, all ages. He speaks Spanish and English.
